the barbie phone review

i just received my barbie phone, so here's a short review and i will probably be able to say more about it after a few weeks of using it but this post will be dedicated to my first impressions.

1. it came in a package that later can act as a jewelry box, which is nice. i like when packaging can be reused, especially when it's intentional. it comes with 2 other cases, a phone charm, stickers, fake gems and that l like promised. and yes, the battery really is pink. i thought that was a joke, it's not. heads up, though - you will probably need your old charger, but it does come with a usb-c to a cable (meaning, one end is type c and the other type a, allowing it to connect to most usb ports you will encounter, which is nice, though the lack of the charger is a bit disappointing)

2. the os is series 30+, which still allows you to access the internet with lte through the opera mini browser, an ancient abomination that makes the web experience horrible, but it does the job in the case of an emergency, i suppose, since google still works. facebook refuses to cooperate with this version of opera though and i unfortunately expect that the same will go for many other websites.

3. there is very little storage, so if you do buy it and intend on taking photos with it or listening to music on it, then i do suggest investing in an sd card, 32GB is the most it'll take.

4. the camera quality is... well, flip phone-ish. it's good if you're looking for a 2000s kinda look for your photos, i guess? just don't expect too much from it.

basically, it's a good deal if you're looking for a visually pleasing phone you can customize. if you're looking into flip phones, then i already assume that you're not the type to worry about functionality beyond calling and texting so if you're looking for a simple phone that will do it's job then go for it! just be warned that the old time experience comes with a horrible browser and a low quality camera, i guess. (but, the front display works as a mirror, that's a cool feature too!)

yup the example photo broke... anyway, what i mean is that every device like a computer or a phone has this thing called "os", the operating system. like windows or android, for example. in the case of this phone, the os is series 30+ (or "s30+" for short). this doesn't really matter if you're not a nerd overanalyzing every aspect of the phone, to be honest. just know that it's pretty limited in what it can do.
here's a link to the example photo, since spacehey acts funny with pictures recently:

does the phone support messaging apps like whatsapp or telegram? and ahh i see it.. the camera quality aint that bad actually bc i like those typa pic so i dont have to edit my pics on instagram by adding the grainy filter before i post it hehe.. plus i have a digicam so the pics arent that much of a concern. thanks for the pic and thanks miku (。>\\<)

i'm afraid it won't, i recommend searching for a phone that uses kaios if you're worried about that (apparently that's what the us version of the barbie phone uses, i'm not sure why europe is different). it should be listed in the offer of whatever phone you're looking at. you can think of kaios as a simplified version of android. you can check which apps are available here:
