why most "alt" guys won't date other alternatives

I think everything I'm about to say is summed up in the quote from Lisa Frankenstein above. 

Not all alternative guys are like this, I've seen plenty of cool alt couples but it does apply to a percentage and i have thought about this subject alot. Most alt guys don't date other alt people because they want to be the cool one in a relationship, they want to be the one to show off and introduce their partner to cool bands and movies and art, they wat to be the one to take you to gigs and show off that they're in a band. Other alt people already know these things and probably won't be impressed that a guy likes cannibal corpse for example and they're probably in a band themselves or are heavily involved in their local scenes. Another thing i've seen happen alot is where an alt guy will date someone not alternative and for a while their partner will be impressed then they will be the one ending up having to provide for their alt boyfriend because they don't want to. 

So basically to sum it up; non alternative people, make sure you're not dating our scummier side of men and alternative people, don't get hung up on that metalhead guy that won't date you, you're better off without him.
