So the other day i get a call from my parents asking if itd be ok if they got rid of some stuff from when i was a kid...legit never drove over to my old childhood house so fast in my lifeeee lmaooo LOOK! they almost threw this all away (☉_☉)

omgwtf this isnt just stuff srsly this is a fuggin museum exhibit dedicated to my late 2000s/early 2010s emo/scene kid awakening ToT thank GAWD i stopped the purge and rescued this slice of my soul preserved in cloth, plastic, and pixelated glory
yoooo lets break it down... :3
the HitClip still works! still has that crunchy 60sec version of Sk8r Boi in it xD b4 i got my 1st ipod this was the way to tune out the world. u werent part of the crew if u didn’t have 1 clipped to ur belt loop at least once
the Canon digital camera? still has pictures from 2007 O_O me and my friends at the mall, some candid mirror selfies, a few RAWR hand poses xPPP
the PSP still had my save file for Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix. i charged it up and nearly cried seeing my old skater w/ the shitty Invader Zim decal i made. last played in 2009 wtf!!!
the Kingdom Hearts shirt? no lie certified 2010 Hot Topic and one of many shirts i thought was lost 4ever (still looking for my Charlie the Unicorn shirt ;-;) but srsly this thing saw everything school hallways, concerts, mall food courts. lmao i swear it still smells faintly of chocolate Axe body spray (>_<)
Jake and Finn hats? these 2 were my winter staples back in high school. Lizzie if ur here and reading this somehow...NO...u still cant have my Jake hat lmfao. but yea i can still remember her always yanking it off my head and throwing it in her locker cuz she had to have it. also can recall the preppy kids giving us shit for wearing hats like these, fingerless gloves, and skinny jeans t(-.-t) watever...these r def getting resurrected this winter no question. the ears still stand proud! >:)
that BOTDF unicorn shirt? yeeaahhh…that 1s from middle school. u little fiends gotta remember this was back before we knew what we know now. that era was loud, bright, and borderline unhinged...and a lot of us got used and abused by sum fucked up ppl, which is y so many of us elder emos now r super protective of the younglings in this community...so if ur a creep or a weirdo reading this, STFUandGTFO! but if nothing else i see this shirt as symbol of an adolescence defined by neon, noise, and questionable choices.
and finally that QWERTY phone? u can see it still turns on! like…wat?? no battery swap, no reboot drama, just charged up and clicked on. legit last touched sometime freshman year. btw the girl on the screen to the right?

yeah that was my gf from 8th grade to sophomore year xP the HOURS i spent txting on that phone and telling her i couldnt wait to marry her roflmao!!! its basically a pocket sized time capsule filled with pics, music, and even some rlly cringe draft messages i nvr sent to her
ughh seeing all of this in 1 place makes me realize just how much of that era is still etched into who i am. i miss how we didnt have algorithm feeds or filters...just blurry digital pics, websites ud check in w/ for a bit when u got home, and an unapologetic desire to be seen in a world that didnt understand us.
so yeah. long live self expression. long live the Scene. long live being cringe and free. and long live the artifacts that survived it all.
stay tragic, my fellow elder alt kids.and to the kids of today...thank u 4 keeping the eyeliner sharp, the playlists angsty, and the spirit alive. ur the reason the heart of this era still beats <333
