Hello fellow SpaceHayers!!
I've been a little busy these few days, lately it feels like I barely have time for anything! but during the short periods of free time, I have to scroll on TikTok, I've seen many crazy stuffs but nowadays I believe that it is getting far beyond the line of what is "enough" in "normal" standards...
I have no one to talk about this with so why not tf! I probably have no room to talk about this myself but unfortunately, I don't care.
Before we get right into this just remember everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this is mine and if you agree that's cool and if you don't that's cool! in the end no one can tell you what to wear, buy or throw. You do what you want, and think is right, God gave us all free will to choose whatever to do so don't let this rando on the internet stop you! because I can't, okay whatever you know what I mean so anyway be kind, keep an open mind and have fun reading! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
Overconsumption
Is it anyone else or just me feeling like it has starting to become absolutely out of hand... like I promise you don't need 20 different Labubu's, I understand that they're cute or whatever but seriously you DO NOT need that many??? I love Lilo & Stitch, but Stitch's face doesn't have to go literally everywhere, and your entire room pattern doesn't have to be that one pink bow and I'm mainly talking about the EXTREME overconsumption and not your regular "oh I have 5 lotions at home"
The amount of people with full drawers of expensive items, only to use 3 products on your get ready with me videos is insane, I get that PR and all that keep sending them stuff, but you can always give, giveaways or lend it to your friends and family or re-sell them. The fact that some people are even buying and buying trending stuff every month something gets trendy, EVEN when it is not what you like or not what you would always use?? I understand long term investments like okay three or four, a couple of countable Dior lip-glosses that you buy after a while to treat yourself is totally fine like I myself have like 3 I think, maybe getting yourself a bag or two but guys... the people are buying things back to back like there is no way buying that much, that expensive, that fast is good at all!?
I promise that there is no problem with waiting until you're almost done with the product to go ahead and buy to restock. I genuinely do not think anyone needs 10 of the same shade of lip balm of 10 different brands and each of them worth more than my liver.
Just because it is trending doesn't mean everyone has to have this like I swear you're not missing out on anything! it is totally okay to like something that is "out of style" or whatever the fuck. But like literally what happened to individuality?
Before you come at me, I'm not saying that liking something that is trending like looked downed upon or bad, but it is overconsuming so much of it that you literally have no room for, especially things like make up that you won't use every day, I don't think you need 5 different shades of Nars concealer? Instead of getting something you actually like and might actually last, why buy something that you would literally throw away after the hype dies out?? who cares if it dies out?? you can still wear that if you still like it.
Not to mention those people who have SO much skincare items, shampoo, body scrubs, lotion- like?? Do you finish 12 shampoo bottles every month??? These stuffs literally expire after like three months or so and you are buying them all at the same time, not to mention changing your shampoo too often is literally not recommended.
Your home looks like a Sephora store, why!! I'm talking about the kind of things that are supposed to be used often then when its broken, expired or worn out you go and buy another couple, like clothes, shoes, skin care, make up and all that jazz like you do not need a shirt with all 20 different shades like I get having a couple but it really gets to a point where like it genuinely is too much I feel.
I think things like books and figures or toys could be said about the same but still it's different because not many people buy 30 books and not read them, but I mean if you buy one book and buy 6 more of the same book but different cover that would definitely be quite an "uhhh" factor for me, I totally understand having 2 different covers but in the end books are a tad bit different than those other stuff, I dunno, voice your opinion in the comments lmk!
"Oh, but I'm a collector" I literally am collecting those POP figures of the straw hat crew, I'm not saying that is NOT overconsumption because it is but guys... I swear people have a whole room for it like a whole toy store at home and the IMMIDEATE buying after seeing something trending and online like I understand having things for decor and whatever but again THERE IS such thing as "too much" no matter what you think or say "we can own as much as we want" "it's not hurting you is it?" yeah, sure go ahead but honestly it is those specific people who won't admit to it and if it is affecting your lifestyle at any point or if you need a whole room for what shampoo's?? I genuinely think that you might have to take a tiny step back and think.
In the end you can't REALLY compare overconsumption of books, figures and those stuff to overconsumption of make-up, skincare and well stuff like that LOL, you know what I mean? like I don't know but really, I mean nowadays it's like a lot. I know make up does not expire until it's finished which is all the more reason that having an entire closet filled with different brand eyeshadows just seems ridiculous to me.
I just feel like all that money you are blessed with can always be put in better places, A house for yourself, charity, Uni, starting a business? idk
Do not even get me started on people who buy things that are obviously insanely ridiculous and unnecessary but buy so much of it because it is trending.
I know underconsumption is a thing but many of people confuse it with regular consumption and it is concerning to me.
A Short Update!
Any who that is all, you are all free to have a discussion in the comments I feel like that would be fun but y'all please be respectful to one another lol, my blog about Islam and Arab misinformation definitely got some heat which I totally expected but the notification section in SpaceHey is lagging on me I fear, because it's not letting me see all comments like I look there then go to the blog and see that there is actually way more like huh, not to mention that when I reply I sometimes don't see my reply but whatever.
Also, to my friends who have seen my bulletins, I am still binge-watching Love Island but then I relapsed to re-watching Ouran Highschool Host Club and Saiki for the millionth time... That is how you know I've been lowkey sulking lately.
I love this song btw, the melody makes me wanna skip everywhere! I hope you can hear it and if not then I'm very embarrassed. I have a 12-hour Day shift tomorrow and it is currently a Thursday so my manager will be there for 8 hours ugh (I hate her) I hope I get through tomorrow because it is a little late right now and I still haven't showered AHHH!
Note: I hope you enjoyed this little yap session, I just had to let it out and thought this would be a pretty good blog Idea, yay! Please do read my other non-argumentative blogs! I'm cool (I think) I swear! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

Oh my goodnes YES, Peak take right here, Like im a perfume collector, but i use them!(sparingly of course cause some of these are hard to find and their new revamped formulas are dogshit) I also collect teasets, and i use them for my birthdays! Theres ways to "Overconsume" And make it usefull, rather than Having 20 labubus and 50 different types of stanelys on the shelves... Reminds me of when my Friends mom used to collect those limited edition barbies, but she mostly did that to resell them when they became high value. I always doubted her but here we are and shes making bank LOL
kiko!
that lady with 10 different Stanley bottles when they just got popular... literally she opened a drawer and there was one of every color and then some of the same color. I was sick
It's literally getting out of hand! a couple of days ago I saw A girl FILL her bathtub with beauty blenders??? be so fr!!!

I’m not a collector yet (I want to collect Nier:Automata items), but I understand what you’re saying. I think what bothers me most when kid fandoms get ran by adults. Now, people are allowed to enjoy what they want, but their obsession can get pretty bad. The MLP was an example of that. Kids would go to certain convictions and theres literal body pillows and some adults being really rude to these kids. Sorry if this was slightly off topic btw!
No no you're totally right tho like okay to enjoy what you want but some people are seriously over the top about things, especially if it is something that is "limited edition" it's insane like in the end these things come and go, like just let the kid have something, you can always get it next time! like I consider myself crazy about Harry potter, but you won't catch me fighting a family to get a limited addition toy wand that they have probably took so long to save up for their kid lol
