let's talk about the coffin of andy and leyley p.2

Long story short, when Andrew is 22 and Ashley is 20, they get locked up in their apartment and their parents abandon them. They run out of food and they spy on a neighbor who was performing a satanic ritual and he gets killed by a demon. Ashley makes a deal with the devil and she gains a trinket that grands her visions in exchange of souls. They also eat the dead neighbor. That's one of the reasons why this videogame is hated, because of cannibalism.

They manage to get out and they stay on a motel because they have nowhere else to go, more satanic things, blah blah blah, visions, etc, etc. I don't remember much after it, but they go to their parents' house, they keep them hostage in the basement so that they can talk things out and also steal money from them, but they end up killing them and giving their souls to the devil for visions. They both dream they have sex with each other, and this is the other main reason why the game is so hated, incest. They get very ''intimate'', Andy smokes more cigarettes than he drinks water a day, they get some money, they have a car, they LIVE in the car, etc...

So, they wanna have new identities, and move somewhere else because they wanna start new lives, since they've murdered various people including their own parents previously. They want to discover why they were locked up in that apartment, and other things... You know what? One of the things I like about this story is that it has a really good lore. In my opinion, it's very interesting, though sickening.

Andrew and Ashley have a VERY toxic relationship. Throughout the story they have a lot of conversations and fights and it's very clear that they have a lot of unsolved remorse and problems with each other. In my opinion, this videogame is confusing because of how complicated Leyley's and Andy's relationship is. They both have very mixed feelings of each other and other characters, but the actual reason I'm blogging about this, is because the themes of the story are so disturbing sometimes I can't sleep.

Like, the Graves family makes me so sad! Douglas' religious and abusive parents, the teen pregnancy, Ashley being so neglected and bratty, Andrew having so much on his shoulders and suffering so much, how Andrew is a terrible person as well, what everyone thinks of them, their situation, etc, AND THE INCEST... Bro, seriously, it makes me sick, and it makes me sad. ''Max, it's all fiction'' okay, that's true, it's just a fictional game after all, but to think that things like this happen irl... Depressing. Teen pregnancy, neglect, bad parenting, bratty children that grow before they're supposed to, how Andrew and Ashley had terrible lives, the abandonment, the incest, the violence, the toxic relationships... All of that happens in real life, and that's what makes me feel nauseous.

At the end of the day, it's just fiction, it's psychological horror. Many psychological horror movies, series, stories or games are made to make you feel like this, and it's not nice. Of course it's not pleasant, but at the same time it makes you stronger because it shows you the ugly part of the world. This videogame is just one more of all the disturbing psychological videogames or whatever that exist, and I'm sure uglier things exist, and EVEN grosser things happen in real life. I'm sorry, it's something we should all know, but do you know what's the bright side of this? That when we stay in the dark for so long, when we see the light, and by that I mean the beautiful part of the world, those positive things that can be everywhere as well, we see them brighter. Sorry for getting poetic, it's just what I think.
