[YuGiOh] I'm Quitting Master Duels

I have stopped playing since last month due to lost of interest. Not to mention the surge of Maliss archetype is not going to be enjoyable on rank duels. I might return if my interest renews.

Maliss Archetype explained: "Maliss" revolves around using self-banishing in order to swarm the field with materials for Link Summons; most of its monsters can Special Summon themselves upon being banished. In conjunction with the Deck's Link-only Extra Deck lock, a "Maliss" Deck is typically geared towards a Link Monster beatdown strategy. Each Main Deck member of the archetype has effects that allow you to gain benefits by banishing another "Maliss" card from the hand, with the banished monster being able to Special Summon itself back to the field at the cost of 300 Life Points each (with the exception of "March Hare", which instead returns a banished "Maliss" monster to the hand). The Link Monsters further this strategy by continuously banishing both players' cards, while also being able to summon themselves back to the field upon being banished, albeit at the cost of 900 Life Points each. On-field, "Maliss" Main Deck "Pawns" provide protection to their Link Monster "Queens" while the latter points to them. Other existing Cyberse monsters that benefit from being banished include "Dotscaper", which can Summon itself upon being banished, and "Balancer Lord", which allows the player to Summon another card from their hand. "Bystial" monsters have great synergy with this Deck; not only are they useful hand traps, but they also can be used on the player's own "Maliss" monsters in the Graveyard to activate their on-banish effects. Especially when other interests emerges. I've been keeping tabs on the blog posts and forum topics on my Nekoweb site. Aptly called Rib-Eye Black Dragon Archives.

There's new talk of the town mobile game called Umamusume, I thought it's one of those gambling games where you bet on anime horse girls. It's basically a trainer game or whatever the Princess maker genre is called. I'm thinking of deleting Master Duels in favour of this funny horse game. (I have a konami acc, my data is safe ig)

The moment I read that it's a banish based archetype is when I knew it would be good because of Yu-Gi-Oh typically using banish as one way to pay for card effects or delete opponent options. I don't really have any good options for sideboard that can help mitigate that meta that come to mind. Although I don't think casual matches even have rounds or sideboard in Masterdual from memory of watching people play it.

Exactly, it's good. Way too good. I don't have my usual deck builds to mitigate them unless I'd ought to go with what's the strongest like everybody else, which would suck. I'll wait out a bit, 'cuz my only friends that I do friendly matches with seemed to be disinterested in playing masterduel.

Started playing last month. I loved the anime when I was young and read some of the Manga.

But the power creep and the learning curve is insane. And I consider myself above average when it comes to gaming due to my love an addiction for it.

It all makes since when I read that the author of YuGiOh Kazuki Takahashi said the game was too complicated for him. Let that sink in.

I think I'll continue playing as I like the aspect of collecting, but wouldn't take competitive play seriously.
