pre-emmy nom predictions

so emmy noms come out very soon, hurray! thought i'd log on here and yap for a quick min on who i wanna see get nominated cus why da freak not.

im a BIG pusher for kathryn hahn double nom this award season. like agatha all along AND the studio?!? big hits, kathryn hahn absolutely cooked her ass off with those shows. theres no way she doesn't get both the noms. winning might be different story, she's up against hacks for agatha and we all know jean smart takes it home every time. she's also up against her co-star, catherine ohara for supporting actress as well as a couple other big hitters. honestly, the double nom itself is a win for her, ill take what i can get around here. 

the gold derby announced their awards today, my goat kathryn being nominated for a few, but it was a pleasant surprise to see aubrey plaza nominated along side her for AAA. didn't expect it, but it was fun to see.

in terms of yellowjackets, i'm hands and knees begging for melanie lynskey to get nominated. between her, tawny cypress, sophie nelisse and sophie thatcher, i think she might have the best bet considering how much of a shauna heavy season this was. did both sophie's absolutely kill every scene this season. yes. yes they did. but i just feel it in my bones that melanie can hold her own against the top contenders(variety seems to agree). like these guys are getting nominated against britt lower, which is gonna be a hard one to beat, severance season 2 was cooking with gas. its gonna sweep for sure. but if melanie gets nominated, i think it will restore some faith in the adult timeline as we move into season 4.  

for guest actor, hillary swank seems to be the top contender for yellowjackets. i guess its because she had an actual role this season. but like, out of all the actors the show classes as a "guest" i do think there might be better options. like simone kissell and ella purnell were great guest appearances this season, and felt like their addition to the season was natural. i'm unsure if alex barajas still counts as a guest actor, i swear i remember her being credited as such in one of the episodes. if she does, without a doubt i believe she should be nominated. i really quickly grew to love mari a lot more this season, and that final episode broke me. if anyone should be nominated, she should definitely be. 

honestly, if any of my favs get nominated this award season, i'm taking it as a massive win. they're all up against a tough set of releases. the comedy awards are packed with the studio, hacks and abbott elementary cast members and severance is going to clean out the drama awards, same with possibly the last of us, white lotus and the pitt. tbh a win is a win, just hoping i get a reason to watch the emmys this year.
