New Book I Read

I recently went to Barns and Noble with my sibling and bought a bunch of books (3 for their birthday, 3 for myself)

I already finished one!

A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna was super cozy and a great read!

This is a pretty cozy book about a witch Sera who had lost most of her magical power when she was a teenager and her journey getting her powers back. There's a bit of magical politics, plenty of quirky characters, lots of found family, and a bit of romance.

The biggest strength of this book is definitely the wonderful diversity of characters in a way that seems realistic. Posy is an autistic kid, and acts weird and nonverbal and is celebrated for it. Jasmine and Matilda are old, disabled, and in love. Nicholas straight up only cares about being a medieval knight and is living his best life.

Personally, I dislike the ending but I can admit that it's a good ending thematically and it ties up loose ends well.

It's a new book and I know that the author has written things before, but I just stumbled across this in the store. I will totally see if I can get my hands on her other series.
