Moving into my Uni house in a couple of weeks! However with a retro twist...

On the 26th of this month I will finally be moving into my house at University alongside my three friends! I cannot wait and I know the next two years are going to be a blast.

One of the things I am especially looking forward to though is being able to completely do up my room from scratch, something in which I am not really able to do at home. However, I want to make my room quite unique, a time capsule if you will. I want to make my room look and feel like it came straight outta 2002, as I have had an obsession for all my old tech for as long as I can remember, and I am one of those people who will still use obsolete technology despite the fact there is a much superior option available to me. So for example, in my room at University I plan to bring with me a 14' CRT TV, alongside a VCR, PS2 and my Sega Dreamcast, all of which I do actually use quite often, the VCR is for all of my VHS movies, and my Dreamcast and PS2 for gaming purposes. Now one limitation to this commitment to what is basically a Y2K time capsule is the fact I cannot in any way use an old computer, as being a journalist I need a powerful modern computer to complete hardcore tasks such as 4K video editing, and in my case, music production as I make my own little tunes for the content I produce! This is something that simply is not possible with an older computer.

My solution to this however is to get myself an older Apple Cinema Display (preferably the behemoth that is the 30' model), and then hook that up to my Mac Studio, which is running software such as cDock and IconChamp so that is pretty much looks identical to OS X Tiger! Then of course I would most likely hide away my Mac Studio, completing the retro look but achieving modern performance and compatibility!

This may seem completely and utterly pointless, unnecessary and strange to most people. However, it is something I hold a great passion for, and it is something I plan on doing even if it is looked upon negatively, as in the kindest way possible, I could not give a diddly squat about other people's opinions (most of the time, not all the time though I'm not that irrational!).

Once I have completed the room setup in at least a few weeks (at max a month), I shall share it on here, and hopefully have some thoughts and opinions on it!
