Yerba Mate Tea.

Hello "Spaceheyers"! (Is there an already established denonym?)

I just remembered that Spacehey exists today, so I decided to make a blog post because why not.

I recently got into Yerba Mate Tea, for those unaware Yerba Mate is a type of tea from South America, more specifically the south of South America. It is mostly drunk in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay. It is made from a plant found nativily in that region.

Each country has a slightly different production process for the tea, I only recently got into it so my info might be wrong but it seems the more north you go the more dusty the tea is. Argentina has the most coarse of the tea, while Brazil has the opposite, chopping up the tea more finely so it's more dusty.

It is a loose tea, meaning it is not in a tea bag, you pour the leaves directly into a cup and pour hot water on it. You use a special cup and a metal straw (bombilla) that has a filter on it.

TBH I suck at explaining things (I also didn't go to sleep last night so I am a bit out of it) So here is a youtube video on it and the wikipedia article.

I forgot to mention some stuff. It has many health benefits, and the brand of tea I used is Cruz de Malta, so far it is my favorite, but it is the only one I have had so far so that's by technicallity. I have anothir brand coming in the mail, have yet to get it. Maybe I will post another blog or a comment here talking about the new brand of mate I ordered, I forget the name as it is in Spanish. Rose something iirc
