Oh boy...
So I've been thinking a lot about downsizing, condensing, and minimizing stuff that I have. Converting physical media to digital, and getting rid of things that take up physical space.
First, I have been converting all my VHS tapes to digital.
Dusting off my VCR and finding the proper cables and equipment for the first time in what feels like forever ago, rewinding VHS tapes, and playing them back... it really felt like I travelled back in time.
I had a VHS tape of the first four episodes of season 2 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 series). This cartoon was seriously my childhood! I had t-shirts, slippers, action figures, games, and more!
I had some episodes that I recorded of The Simpsons. Being able to watch these episodes back then at any time was pretty fun!
There was an episode of The Jetsonsย ("Jetson's Nite Out"), where George and Mr. Spacely go to the football game and lie to their wives about it.
A couple episodes of The Gary Coleman Show. I'm curious to know if anyone else knows of this cartoon's existence?
Wow, The Age of the Great Dinosaurs (1979). This had to have been my first anime I've ever seen as a kid, and it was a pretty violent one too. But hey, I turned out fine, I suppose. xD
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea. I'm not going to lie, this was the last part of one of the VHS tapes, and I remember always falling asleep to this cartoon, so I don't have much memory of the story or anything.
The first season of Pokรฉmon! When this anime first aired on TV, everyone I knew was so obsessed with it! Always talking about the episodes in school, and there were trading cards, toys, games, and so much more! I remember there was a timer setting on the VCR so I would have it record episodes on its own.
King of the Hill. I still really like this show a lot. I can't wait to see the storylines of the newer episodes!
All Dogs Go To Heaven. One of my all time favorite childhood movies. Don Bluth movies are forever fantastic. Rest in peace to all of the amazing actors.
A Scooby-Doo episode ("Go Away Ghost Ship") where Shaggy and Scooby were making Ghost Pirate Stew.
Not to mention there were plenty of older commercials, like NES commercials such as Astyanax. That was one of my favorite NES games as a kid.
Mr. Belvedere episode "Gotta Dance" where Wesley was in ballet and the dad got upset lol. Admittedly, other than this episode, I never really watched this show.
Fantastic Max! This was a fun cartoon. The green alien toy was voiced by Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson).ย
The Adventures of Don Coyote and Sancho Panda. Another fun Hanna-Barbera cartoon!
Home Alone 2. It's a great movie! Seeing this hotel room service scene was amazing as a kid. Look at all those desserts!
Honey, I Blew Up The Kid. I'm more familiar with this movie than the movies in this series.
And I had quite a few tapes of plenty of shows from G4TechTV. This was the main source for all video game content at the time.
So after digitizing, where do they all go? For now, I put them on anย external hard driveย that I labelled "VHS".
It was a lengthy process, but I'm glad that I did it. Anyone else digitize their VHS tapes or anything as well? Let me know in the comments! :3

BobHellscape!
That's pretty cool!
VHS has a very specific vibe that nothing else really has.
Very cozy feeling.
I agree! ^^
