I'm back on spacehey after being offline for quite some time!!!!!!!!! I missed HTML stuff and the personal web! I've been feeling wicked motivated to start creating again and I'm hoping to start updating this profile and my own personal site more this summer!!!!
Anyways - Last night my girlfriend and I saw Superman and HOLY. SHIT. It was everything I hoped it was!!!!!!!!! I hate to get parasocial but James Gunn seriously gets it. It's full of comic book silliness but also knows how to take itself seriously when it needs to!! Gunn's character writing is as good as ever and the movie was just so much fucking fun.
Not to spoil too much but the politics behind this movie are far bolder than I expected. Like so in your face there is no way you could misconstrue the message (and yet some have tried) (this is also a good thing btw)
Walking out of the theater I genuinely felt so happy and inspired and hopeful. This is the exact movie I needed this year. I will be watching a thousand more times and I am going to finally start diving into supes' comics now!!! I've been meaning to for a bit and I'm very excited!! :P

I felt a mix of things watching the movie, most of them good.Overall it's a lot of fun, at the same time strange, I think we've become spoiled by this era of more "adult" heroes. But they are... heroes, based on comics, it really has all that crazy stuff, and I think I was missing that in hero movies! But it's the same thing I say about things that are considered for children; You can be silly but convey a profound message at the same time.
