Back from camp

So I'm finally back from skating camp, wooo! I was there for two weeks; it was fun and all, although being the oldest one there sort of makes it a little less social, I guess? I mean, I really feel out of place when it comes to the topics the younger ones talk about. It usually ends up with me retreating back to the room to rest rather than speak and hang out with the others since I'm not interested in makeup, tanning, shopping, and what people get up to with their partners...

Instead I spent my breaks working on and setting up my page (I still have some stuff I wanna figure out and change but that'll come eventually)

But disregarding all that, it was fine :) The first week was tough; I hadn't been on ice for 2 weeks or something, so it took a little while for me to get back in the groove of things, I usually only skate between 4-6 hours a week and here we were skating three hours a day plus off ice and dance so as always it was a shock to the system but by the second week all my jumps were as easy as pie again. 

Although I was getting a little annoyed by the end of week 2 since we were basically only jumping 2 axels, 3 salchows, and 3 toeloops, with the occasional 3 loop thrown into the mix, and I was getting tired of it, so in the end I asked if I could practice 3 flip and lutz while the others continued on the other stuff. Like, I get that the others weren't managing those other jumps and needed to keep working on them, but I came there to practice some stuff that I didn't already know how to do, to develop and get a new perspective, and of course it's good to practice the things you already know, but damn, every single pass? Like, at least let me move on while the others continue with their 2 axels, and it's not like we didn't have enough coaches on ice because we had 3-4 coaches per pass, so attention wasn't an issue in general, except that since I was managing my jumps, I didn't get corrections.

Anyway, enough complaining. I'm home now, which is nice. I missed my dog, and it was nice to see him again :)
