Sylvia Plath r*cism

(WARNING: talking about depression, r@cism towards Chinese people, antisemtism, I don't agree with the comments Sylvia has said about Chinese and Jewish people and I assume other culture's and people as well that I haven't spoken about in this blog, I am only informing people about her words.)

Not enough people talk about how r@cist Sylvia Plath actually was, including antisimetic and probably other groups and cultures of people.

I was reading The Bell Jar and I think it was only like the first chapter where she says something like ''her tan wasn't really clear anymore and now her skin looked yellow-ish and her eyes looked sort of smudged like a chinese person'', PARDON. Of course I dont remember the exact wording but christ woman, and then in her diaries she literally says full on the rudest things about Jewish people and their ''greed'' or something. AND NOBODY ACKNOWLEDGES IT.

Everyone talks about how depressed and great her writing was, and then forget she was literally an arse, a r@cist and antisimetic arse.

I am a fan of Sylvia Plath's writing, it is truly a great piece of wording art. But the things she says about these groups of people is horrible and I don't think it should be so easily accepted, to be a feminist is to know when a woman is right and agree, and to know when a women is wrong and disagree. I even made a poster about her in class because she is a great writer and it is indeed inspiring, but what she said is something I can't and nobody should defend.

Thank you!! As a black women who has read “the bell jar” some parts are very distasteful. However, her writing is superb! I like to think that people can get inspired by the authors writing rather than there character as a human begin. Separate the writing skills from the writer themselves! :3
