I expected more, but I still loved it!
I'd say this is probably one of Wes Anderson's weaker short films, but it's still pretty surprising.
I can't explain exactly why, but it captivated me. The whole plot of the rat catcher who is just like a rat intrigued me... One could draw an analogy with the saying that "a mouse would never create a mousetrap, but humans created the atomic bomb."
I loved how throughout the plot it was made clear that the best way to destroy something (or someone) is to get to know them thoroughly (keep your enemies close, right?) so that in the end we have that scene where, WOW, the hunter eats the mouse and IMMEDIATELY AFTER HE LEAVES the camera focuses on the wanted poster... Completely ABSOLUTE CINEMA 🤯.
But even so, I still thought it could be better. I know it's a short film and all, but I found it very bleh. Only the ending really saves it.
Of course, this is my personal opinion, and it may be that a professional film connoisseur of the "I watch 500 films a year, you little brat" type will appear to say that everything i've said here is complete rubbish, and that's fine. 🤷♀️

OMG I LOVE WES SHORT FILMS ALL OF THEM I WATCHED ALL OF THEM THYE WERE GOOD BUT MY FAV WAS DEFENTLY POISON IDK WHY BUT ITS SO SO GOOD
rat catcher confused me at times but still super good
I'm dying to see Poison!!!!! It's one of the few of his that I haven't seen yet, now that you mention it, I'm even more eager to see it lol

bro you will not regret it it is so god like genienuly i wish i could watch it again for the first time
depending on where u are cuase im in the uk so its on netflix for me like theres the indivudual film and theres like a movie that includes all of his short films into onccce so you can just watch it all in one sitting but you can also watch poision on youtube too like im pretty sure both free btw

Here in Brazil, they have them at Disney, and I think Netflix has them too, but I've never looked for them...
