religious tattoo

so basically i want to get a tattoo of astaroths sigil, but i have qualms with the 5 pointed star. i have a religious connection with astaroth and want to get the sigil tattoed. astaroth is often tied into venus and was apparently originally represented with an 8 point star(as is venus) and i was wondering if im allowed to alter the sigil for my own liking(just the star) and it still be an appropriate homage? genuinely cant decide
