(P.S: kudos to you if you understand the reference in the title. :-)
ah, the wonders of being undiagnosed. how fun it is to sit in one place for hours on end, moving as if you were in slow motion and feeling nothing but the numbing effects of apathy. i'm sure some of you can relate. probably.
getting headaches every time you drastically change your
expression? Feeling irritable to the outside world? Feeling like A Stranger
amongst Those Around You?? FEELING SO GODDAMNED TIRED OF IT ALL AND
WISHING SOMETHING WOULD HEAL THE PAIN???
well. have i got a solution for you, dear reader.
no, it's not some cure-all pill or snake oil fad that requires 10 payments of 9.99.
it's simply...
changing the scenery a little.
change your wallpaper. change your device's accent colors. find a new theme for your phone or computer. put stickers on your computer. put up some artwork or a couple of decorations for yourself. put up some posters of your favorite thing, if applicable. /make/ posters of your favorite thing if you don't have any/can't buy any.
been laying in the same unmade bed for far too long? if you've got the energy, make your bed. change your sheets. rearrange your pillows. wash your blankets. wrap yourself in your blankets right after they've gotten out of the dryer (but be careful!). fold your blankets. make a pillow fort.
experiment, if you will, with a new look. don't try to chase beauty standards, heavens no!
try on makeup. try that new style of makeup parallel to your typical look. do makeup based on how you feel. style or trim your hair. dye it even, if you so wish. wear that outfit you've been anxious to put on. don't like it? that's okay. embrace the fact you tried anyways.
change is terrifying. scary doesn't even cover the half of it. but sometimes, just for a moment, we can embrace certain kinds of change, and they can help us through the turmoils of life. to deal with change, you must tackle it aggressively until it no longer stands in your way as a threat. try tackling it little by little. a punch here, a kick there perhaps. work your way up.
stretch. do some self-care. wash your hair and face. stare yourself in the mirror, and no matter how much it sounds like a lie, say "i love you." take care of yourself instead of others for a change. eat something nice.
and if you can't do any of these? that's okay too. no one's at fault for what they can or cannot do. sometimes it's just that difficult. you can always try again.
done some or all of these, yet still seeing no results? don't throw in the towel just yet. i did say, after all, that none of this was a cure-all pill.
sometimes it doesn't work out the first time. or the second, or the fourth. but do not see these past attempts as failure, instead, learn from it.
what works? what doesn't work? what works only a little bit? write that down, write that down! it might SEEM like nothing, but it matters so much more than you think in the long run.
and if you can, don't forget to ask for help where needed. it is, in fact, brave to show others that you need assistance. whoever says otherwise probably needs a helping hand themselves, respectfully. reach out sometimes.
moral of the story?
as a wise person once said; "you ain't a tree. you don't like where you are in life? move."
take care, denizens of spacegreeting.
