Supernatural and TVD on DVD

I've finally been watching more of my favorite shows on DVD on my CRT TV from 2002.  The picture is smaller, of course, but it looks so much better on the screen it was made for.  I've watched tons of these shows on my computer or a modern television, but the special effects are always obviously fake or not as believable.  But on that grainy square TV it looks great 😂

I've noticed this mostly with the "vampire eyes" special effect they use on TVD all the time.  It looks so cool now.  Also the sped up running is way more intimidating when you can't see the obvious blur from the animation.

Another bonus of using the DVDs is the soundtrack!  Supernatural, for example, has a ton of music in earlier seasons that isn't used in the Netflix version for copyright reasons.  This impacts the tone a lot since so much music is listened to when Sam and Dean are in the Impala together.
