I am getting more and more hooked to DCC the more books I read. These last two books feel so much more improved over the first four. Not that the early books are bad by any means. But these last two have more wieght in the plot advancemnt then the previous books.

I thought all LitRPGS would feature mostly unimportant choices that dont really effect characters or their world. For example, anything happening with the Dungeon, its NPCs, or enemies have no emotional effect. But when Crawlers (humans) or any of the aliens outside of the crawl are involved in the story the emotional weight is massive.

This book had its sad moments but I don't think it goes as far as book 5. If book 7 keeps up the emotional impact of the plot then it will be another banger.
