Worldbuilding Blog 1: Introduction

This is more of an introduction to my world and the circumstances under which it came to exist rather than writing the events that happened in it like i plan to do in the future.

 Backstory

In the local cluster of galaxies there are two great warring powers: Humanity and the Egege. They are constantly in a state of political tension that often boils over into war, which, considering the scale of the two empires, leaves billions dead each time, including races that are merely bystanders in the conflict.

Humanity and the Egege are very different sociologically because of their focus on different focuses on technology: Humanity has very advanced digital systems and conventional weaponry while the Egege have discovered certain magical powers and spells. During the millennia of the two civilizations knowing each other, however, a lot of basic technologies have been exchanged; the Egege now use computers and humanity uses healing spells for example.

At one time, in response to many Egege-held worlds being destroyed by increasingly more coordinated and strategically advanced human attacks, the Egege decided to construct a small artificial human world in secrecy to study their mind and how they develop, hopefully giving them an edge in the ongoing war. This world was called Kiru, or The Garden. After introducing abducted Humans to the world whose memories were wiped clean, the Egege artificially sped up their technological and social progress by many orders of magnitude to the point where they reached metallurgy in just under 10 years of being introduced to the world. Just after the first alloys of bronze and tin were forged, Humanity found out about The Garden and sent an entire fleet to the lonely planet where it was located. In a matter of hours, the planet no longer existed. It was merely many chunks of rock floating in space. Miraculously, however, The Garden survived in one piece, now floating in space and with the spell speeding up the evolution of humanity broken. One spell that didn't go away was actually the one simulating earthly gravity and air conditions, meaning the Kirians (that's what the Humans are called) remained alive.

Information About Kiru

The world is lentil-shaped, with earth's curvature. The inhabited side of it is 750 km (466 miles) in diameter, about the distance between Rome and Vienna. It is surrounded by a colossal glass dome at the top of which is a light-emitting, heat-producing, sun-like surface which is on for 13 hours and off for 11. This means Kirians don't experience evenings or mornings, the sun just turns off and on. Kiru is cut in half by a great river called The Eternal Water, which exits the surface when it comes to the edge of the world and goes beneath, to boiling hot regions and once again flows through them as steam. Upon reaching the edge of the world again, the river rises to the top, condensing and flowing through its basin on the surface as a liquid. As a result of the Eternal Water, heavy clouds are formed near its entry point onto the surface every 90 days which spread over the whole world and create a seasonal monsoon.

I know none of these things about the world are accurate but whatever

*slight retcon: i changed the worlds diameter to 750 km instead, i felt 450 was too little

Interesting approach, how much speculative evolution will there be in that greenhouse?

omgg i replied way too late for this...
i have no idea :/ speculative evolution isnt something i like doing unless its convenient for humans (eg. a plant that provides ink or smth) but i would expect that most species would stay similar to those on earth
i think this is too big of a landmass to cause any island dwarfism/gigantism either

The issue with biological beings is that they cannot remain the same over time, especially sexually reproductive beings, as they have more genetic and evolutionary variables. if you want them to stay the same, there should be an explanation for it.

i will make some changes, but not a lot
