1st reason: its racist and fetishising asians. ur race is beautiful so no need to change. every race is beautiful. however im just letting u know not every east asian looks like junkook, they’re all beautiful in different ways.
2nd reason: they’re changing their race for the stupidest reasons. no emily, just because u watched anime and listened to j-pop doesn’t mean you’re japanese from now on.
3rd reason: face claim is identity theft which is literally illegal. imagine u just post a picture on ur instagram and boom 40 weirdos want to look like u now. it’s creepy and illegal.

Ur right. It is giving, "I am not confident within my race and I am insecure, let me paste this Ethnicity upon me despite not facing any problems this Ethnicity has, because I can romanticise, sexualise, and "adopt" What parts I like to my choosing". Literally the only reason I see why they do it. They're ignorant to their own race or don't feel confident being the vanilla slate / being the "hate me or love me" slate, so they go to the one where they can pick and choose what they like particularly. It's worse cause they weirdly sexualise it. There's nothing inherently sexy about my or anyone's race, they're just a weirdo.
