I'm seeing MCR in 2 days!!!
They are already hinting at all sorts of shenanigans on their Instagram pages - particularly Mikey. I hope they announce something at my show, that would make the trip to Seattle SO much more worth it.
My dad has been making his coworkers at the office listen to them all day. He texted me to tell me it was starting to annoy them greatly. He actually likes MCR, which is not all that surprising considering that he and Gerard have a lot of the same music taste. He's also excited to see Violent Femmes. We both like a few of their songs from the 90's.
I'll update here after the show. Doors are at 4:30, so I have a feeling it's going to be a long night.
SO... it was the best concert I've ever been to. I was way up in the nosebleeds with my dad, (section 333!) and we had the best time.
We waited three hours in line outside in the hot sun just to get t-shirts, which was kind of ridiculous, but honestly I had a great time. My dad and I are both very social, and we had a great time meeting other emos.
The show itself was incredible. We could feel the pyrotechnics even from over 100 feet away! Hearing my favourite songs live (they played Vampires Will Never Hurt You!!) was SO SICK. There was a live execution, a suicide bomber clown, a blind opera singer, and so many cryptograms. I can't wait to see how the show will change as the tour continues.
After the show, we walked all the way back to our hotel (about 2km). It was hard to fall asleep because my wrists hurt from shaking my arms in the air lol. Went home on the ferry the next day and am now very tired at home.
Stay tuned for updates on my new apartment & top surgery coming soon!!
Romantically yours,
Benjamin
