i completely agree! im still on twitter because its my main and most used social media and all my online friends are there, and ive curated my feed well enough that i never see *the horrors* unless i go out of my way to see whats up... but i can definitely feel the change since his takeover! also something that bothers me a lot is how many bots are on there, elon said he would get rid of them but he just made it worse (this also relates a bit to the dead internet theory if that might interest you). you're completely right about him and his cohorts just wanting to divide us, its really all about spreading hateful rhetoric and ideologies just for the sake of doing it (and making money at the same time). i hope other platforms gain more popularity as more people leave twitter though (and id like to say facebook too but i dont think thats happening anytime soon sadly)
I appreciate the visit and the comment. I gave X every chance. However, even in posting about my blog entries and sometimes writing about the need for people to take responsibility for their words and actions (common sense), I was hit with mind-boggling levels of negativity. I'm on Threads, FB, Instagram, and Blusky. There has to be a site that benefits from X's decline. For a while, that seemed to be Blusky, but now I'm not sure. Regardless, I wish them nothing but success because I'm tired of visiting sites with users offering views of "reality" torn from extra surreal episodes of "The Twilight Zone."
that's completely fair... its really easy to just find the worst of humanity on that platform so i cant fault anyone for leaving it. as you said people dont care to take responsibility for their actions and twitter itself wont do anything to punish those people so theres not much else we can do tbh 🤷
Bluesky is honestly an amazing alternative to "X" - like, I'm amazed how good it is. Not to mention that it's open source! It just needs more recognition.
Thanks for your comment! You are right about Bluesky. I'm on there as well! I just wish there was more interaction. I would like to see more constructive interaction on Bluesky posts, as opposed to the thoroughly malicious comments normally found on X. Here's my Bluesky page: https://bsky.app/profile/techrider.bsky.social
First, thanks for commenting. I see what you're saying, but I can't truly comment on that because I have no proof of any confusion on Musk's part re: any issues. There is abundant proof of the diminishment of X, but I don't have anything with which to state that Musk was/is confused.
Thank you for reading and responding. To me, the heartbreaking part is that despite all the negativity that I believe Musk has permitted or fostered on X since his purchase of it, he remains the second or third most influential Republican. What's also concerning are Musk's plans for space colonization. Why? Because his ships are *his* ships alone, not the government's, so if he should succeed in setting up bases or colonies on the Moon or Mars (extraterrestrial versions of Camp Siegfriend and/or Camp Nordland, perhaps?), those installations will be owned by him alone, thus giving him a first-of-its-kind off-world power as a kind of space commander. And in getting to the Moon and Mars, Musk plans to launch a fleet of his ships, and that would make him the first private space fleet commander. Now just imagine how achieving his goals of off-world colonization would further boost his wealth and personal power here on Earth.

I like Elon, he's not bad, he just gets confused sometimes with his choices. Anyway, X is still better than the old Twitter.

It's heartbreaking that you're right.
