Hinterkaifeck

At first when I listened to the album, it was very calming. To me it was just another calm relaxing album I'd listen any day. Then I decided to look up the name of the album, and it was a true story....

So I'll cover the story behind the name and then I'll rate the album.

On April 4th, 1922. About 70 km on the north side of Munich, was the discovery of the murder of 6 people in a farmstead called Hinterkaifeck.

1. Andreas Gruber (63) - The patriarch of the family
2. Cäzilia Gruber (72) - Andreas's wife
3. Viktoria Gabriel (35) - Their widowed daughter
4. Cäzilia Gabriel (7) - Viktoria's daughter
5. Josef Gabriel (2) - Viktoria's son
6. Maria Baumgartner (44) - The newly hired maid

In the Late February 1922, Andreas reported to his neighbors some footsteps coming from the Bavarian forest, to the barn, with no return foot steps.

Earlier in Match 1922, Andreas and his family reported footsteps in their attic and things going missing.

On March 30th, 1922, the previous maid quit her job. Due to the odd occurrences and with the belief of the house being paranormal.  

March 31th, 1922. A new maid started her first ever day working in the Hinterkaifeck Farmstead, Maria Baumgartner.

And sadly on that same day, the killer/s lured the victims one by one by one, and brutally murdered them. Later on the killer/s proceed to go to Josef Gabriel's bedroom, and murder the child in his cot. Maria Baumgartner being the last one, possibly exploring to figure out the strange noises. 

"The younger Cäzilia showed signs of hair pulling, strangulation, and severe blunt force trauma to her head. Evidence suggested she may have survived for several hours after the initial attack, possibly even tearing out clumps of her own hair in agony."

Fuck me, album now has a bit of a kick now that I know the story. May they rest in peace, it shatters my heart reading this case.  Lets get onto the Album review now.

Before knowing this case, the album was super calming to me. Something Id listen to while sleeping.

After learning the story, calming in a way, but beyond despair. In my opinion, this is another 10/10  album on everything. I don't think I need to say anything other than that.

With that being said every Giles Corey album has been rated, this my order in terms of favorite.
