Something that has been bugging me for a while is just how overwhelming the modern internet is. There are so many different platforms that do essentially the same things and I feel so stretched out between them all, like I don't have one specific place to call home. Its so overwhelming having all these different options.
It doesn't help that there's the threat that AI will steal anything I post. As an artist I HATE the idea that my hard work and passion is being used for absolute slop, which is why I try to stay away from sites like Instagram. I don't even feel safe on YouTube, and my channel and sense of community is dying on there since I'm no longer the same person I was a few years ago making the same sorts of stuff that people watched me for. It just sucks cuz YouTube and Instagram are the only places I feel I have real friends on, and if I post anywhere else they won't be able to see it.
But I wanna branch out and be a part of other communities in other spaces. The logical option is to just stick to YouTube and deal with the awful algorithm and sense of dying community, but I also love Tumblr for its tags and thriving sense of fandom. I love fandom and talking about my interests and it feels like such an amazing place to be. SpaceHey seems like such an awesome place to write about my life and maybe share some art? SpaceHey seems a bit more personal in a way. I just don't want to feel stretched out and overwhelmed by the need to post to more than one site yk? Why do i even post anyways? I hate modern internet so much.
anyone have any similar experiences and tips? I would love to hear from other people here.
