In reference to this happening.
I feel so hurt when people talk over me about my own trauma, deciding what's right for me, especially those who've only experienced one or two layers of it. I don't believe in comparing "who's more oppressed" but the difference in experience shouldn't just be ignored. It's why the outrage about dark themes in fiction makes me upset. Writing and making art based off of what happened to me stopped me from cutting myself, it stopped my suicidal ideations, it saved me from being radicalized, it even saved me from considering actual teenage prostitution.
And now people want to take that away from me, because it simply "makes people uncomfortable"? I'm one of the people you failed to save so I had to save myself. I'm close to the people you abandon and cast away because the only lives that "matter" are those that can afford it.
And now I'm a student, studying my best to become a woman who can contribute to the society you abandoned, to help my mother and brothers who you abandoned, to find and help people similar to my closest friends who probably are all deceased at this point and you abandoned.
Who are you saving? The people who share your mindset would never even dare touch things like that, so who do you think you're saving? Those who have their own ways and can remain moral without your help? Besides taking away from me, what do you gain?

the way ts is so common now, even america is censoring titles and its like???? how is anyone supposed to learn or grow as people when yall are censoring the things that help people grow and cope, and then act like its bouta push society to be better?? imo when people arent allowed to be exposed to certain things that push boundaries (i.e. these shitty booty ass book bans) theres no actual room for growth, so "protecting" people from certain topics really does more harm than good. history is seriously repeating itself on all fronts and i hate it lol fuck ts
