Skramz is such an awesome subgenre

[Skramz: A Subgenre that's DIY screamo and draws from emotive hardcore. It was most prominent from the mid 90s to early 2000s before seeing a small resurgence in the 2010s and 2020s. The term was originally used in 2005/2006 on the cmhwak forums as a partial joke but also to better differentiate diy punk screamo from mallcore screamo. It's known for its dissonance, chaos, intensity, and screams filled with emotion.]

Good ol' skramz, the music that started it all and heavily led up to my current music taste. The type of music that thrashes itself around, screaming and crying into the atmosphere. I love skramz because it just feels so atmospheric, loud walls of sound crashing on you like your a worn down ship trying to stay steady on the surface. It can be filled with rage or drowned with despair, either way, you can really see it takes from emotive hardcore.

And of course I must mention emoviolence since I think it deserves its own little paragraph about it! Emoviolence is skramz and powerviolence's even more chaotic child for a lack of better words. It's louder, it's faster, the song lengths start to get even shorter. Sure it might also be a newer term or a term made from a joke (that I'm just not aware of lol) but man it hits! A little too hard... ouch! Emoviolence really packs a punch and ambushes your ears without warning! But at the same time, it still keeps its skramzy roots ;D
