any tips for a fic on ao3??

hi!! so currently I'm making a fic, I'm js wondering on how to start it?? like i've written it, not finished, but everytime I reread it it it just seems...like UGH to me.

I'm wondering if I should just start it when the plot like starts (aka when one of the main characters attempts ykyk...) like from a neighbour or js a narrator. (e.g, "he saw the body getting carried of the house on a stretcher, the girls, aged twelve, thirteen, and fourteen followed out only reaching the last steps of the porch before their mother, who looked oddly calm, stopped them, their faces shone with tears, while their brother, where was the other one?, stood beside the front door, which was still opened, looking panicked' I'm gonna stop there)

the background isn't really that important, its a fanfiction so its CANON DIVERGENCE, but the settings different, like one of the main characters (aka the MC in canon) gets adopted by dif people and raised diff.

so options for the intro to the fic are:

• The og one, where the family gets introduced and the years leading up to it (the attempt) happen.
• Neighbour POV when MC attempts
• when the MC attempts, their POV
• after the MC attempts

what the fics abt:

(I'm not gonna say what movie/series I'm writing this abt, I DONT want to get made fun of...)

its kinda inspired by the Virgin sewerslides (ik that 'sewerslide's immature idk if I can say the real word on here.) 

Plot: 5 kids get adopted by 2 people when they're young, when one MC is 13 he attempts, forming a sewerslides pact between all the MC's. later on, when something from canon is happening, (the antagonist being bad) one of the other MC khs when shes 16, causing the pact to work, like dominos they all die.

its angsty, I like it.

how its going:

beginning: the family gets introduced, before the main event, little things and problems happen.

1 event in the canon happens, but different, then the problem and it getting solved is exactly like canon, except for the fact that the canon MC acts different, same as EVENT 2.

after EVENT 2 is done, the beggining of EVENT 3 (aka the sewer slide and pact form) happens differently. EVENT 4 is same as canon except it totally messed up the MC's mental health. EVENT 5 is when the canon characters meet my AU characters (OC's) and my OC's are involved in EVENT 5, then that's when the other MC (16) khs and then the domino thing happens. it affects the canon characters since MC is no longer there to help them.

HOPE THIS MADE SENSE!! GIVE ME FEEDBACK AND TIPS PLEASE!! I NEED HELP WITH THIS!!! any tips would help
