why do nobody (everyone over 18) doesn't listen to opinions minors give? Like ik I'm young but just don't fucking laugh in ma face liek im some kinda maniac "oh darling you wouldn't understand" YES I DO UNDERSTAND MISS IM JUST TRYNA SAY HOW UR LIFE IS SHITTY AS HELL

Children may distance themselves from adults for the same reason: because adults may not always understand the feelings of children. Regardless of how the adults' mind works, if that is the child's preference or boundary, it stays that way. Being strong willed is a trait people often want.
The maturity of children compared to adults varies, but is typically at a lower level than adults, hence the reason why that phrase is used a lot. You don't have to prove your worth or skills to anyone if they're not willing to listen.

Because adults have signifigantly more lived experience than children, would Leonardo da Vinci ask an unpracticed finger painter for art advice? I think you will better understand the sentiment when you're older, I felt this way when I was young but it becomes pretty apparent as to why people 15 years older than you do not take your input seriously, especially on topics you do not have any experiences about (jobs, finance, identity, etc.)
