Ever wondered why killer whales are called that if they're not whales at all?
Because, yeah, killer whales are considered dolphins. But then, why aren't they called killer dolphins?
It all comes down to a bad translation.
In the 18th century Spanish whalers used to call this animal "asesina-ballenas". This name was translated to english literally like this -> asesinoย = killer , ballena =ย whale.
But, as I've said before, this is wrong and should have been translated asย "whale killers", which makes more sense since they attack whales.
That's all, byee :3
