At the mall today, I was fixing myself in the bathroom when a funky-looking woman left her things with me and my sister. She came up to us, gave us compliments, and it turns out she has a photo of herself, back in the glorious days of her goth look, dressed almost exactly like me in the '90s.
But then, she said she just grew up. She told me how I must cherish my youth, all the phases, everything– as its not gonna last forever, and blew us a kiss as she headed out. I could only tell her how fucking cool she is but I just wish that conversation lasted much, much longer.
But oh, how I could have cried. She made my day then and there and nothing else afterward, nobody's judgement, not even my usual outdoor misery mattered at all. They don't know that I fucking did it, I have ascended, a '90s goth took notice and understood everything upon first glance.
Wherever she is, may the best things head her way, I owe it to her.

goddamn, respect! you must look rad!
i'd love to dress goth too some time, i'm alternative but not really goth but i've always wanted to give it a try, i have a few goth songs in my mp3 :]
to be fair my outfit wasn't the most traditionally goth, i would call it more of a "mall goth" look. korn tee and camos, but with my black buckled boots, choker, dark makeup, it gave it a little bit more of a gothic, and quite '90s look. I'll post the pics once I get to transferring the stuff, which I'm NOT looking forward to

anyway i tots get it and to an extand i would still call it goth (sorta) as long as you're openly goth and dress more "accurate" on other occasions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

CONGRATULATIONS I WANT TO BE LIKE YOU I LOVE YOUR STYLE BUT MY PARENTS WONT LET ME WEAR ANYTHING LIKE THAT PLEASE ADOPT ME
Thank you haha! Well I see you're 13, and that's just about around when I truly started getting into my music and fashion. it takes time. you will not have your dream wardrobe all at once, I don't think I'm even close to my dream wardrobe still. use this time to truly consider your tastes even within alternative fashion. start with basics that you can easily pair together, figure out the colors and silhouettes you like first. then build on it from there. I suggest you go thrifting too, it's gonna be much more affordable. hope that works for you, and I'm sure it will. might make a more in-depth blog about this, actually
