This is a rant to anyone who seriously talks like that, not with nostalgia which is okay, but those who geniuely think like that.
"They don't make music like this anymore..." ...like what? Like scene? Emo? Screamo? Goth? Industrial? You know that, like...music making is easier than ever? We have midi instruments and millions of free samples?? People make music like that every day even from their phones??? U know that???
"They don't make clothes like this anymore..." I mean SURE IF YOU GO TO ZARA THERE WILL BE PLASTIC CLOTHES, AWESOME, but try going to any other store, idk, h&m, sinsay, medicine, house, and SURPRISE SURPRISE, 100% COTTON! from all of the clothes I've brought from last year and this year BESIDES thrift I haven't brought a single piece that had polyester in it.
Besides, surprise surprise, if you wanna cool edgy funky punky clothes, you gotta edit them YOURSELF. THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO COME PREMADE HELLO!!!!!!!!!!
"Social media isn't...like that anymore..." Like what. Pretensional? Algorithm based? Ad filled? LIKE IT WAS FROM 2013??? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!
"People... don't look like this anymore." Hey, uh, do you know the definition of TRENDS???? WHEN SOMETHING WAS TRENDING, PEOPLE LOOKED LIKE IT, WHEN IT STOPPED, PEOPLE LOOK LIKE SOMETHING ELSE, WOW, SHOCKER!!!
If you wanna still look like "they looked before" then just...Do it? No one's stopping you from dressing like it, from doing what they were doing, from dying your hair, from cutting your hair, OH NO, WAIT, I KNOW WHAT STOPS YOU - YOUR URGE TO BE A SELF PITYING LOSER WHO NEEDS AN EXCUSE FOR BEING LAZY AND LOOKING LIKE A BASIC BITCH, GET YO ASS UP AND DO SOMETHING WITH YO SELF!!!!

People that don't like change can be annoying. Things don't last forever, obviously,, but it's still there in some way, some how. I feel like people need to accept change.

it's true nostalgia makes me want to go back years ago through some specific period
but honestly ? i think that all we ever want have already existed and we live in a ltimeline where we can have all the good things from the past at once ! really cool ! as for people............... no, some people always were and will always be super stupid no matter what we do
let's just find your communities and people who love the same things as us
as for trands.... not much can be done, that's the beauty and curse of time. it is meant to be present moment thing and it goes away. i think that's kinda neat too. each periods got their little something special

People seriously want to go back to 2016? It's 2025 and nothing's really changed since then. Social media was just as algorithmic as it was back then, smartphones were everywhere and everyone was hooked to them by that point like they are now, and it was also the year a certain convicted felon from The Apprentice was voted into office for the first time. I don't really see much of a difference between 2016 and now, other than the fact that I was 10 years old in 2016 and am almost 19 now.
Now if we were talking about 2006 compared with today, then that's a whole different story, as the world was actually noticeably different (and cooler) back then before the Zuck and his cronies discovered and exploited algorithms in the most unethical ways possible and when the smartest phones of the day were those cool QWERTY keyboard Blackberries and T-Mobile Sidekicks (which only a small amount of people owned, as most people who owned a cellphone back then owned flip phones).
But yeah, I do agree with the making your own clothing part as well as the doing whatever you want regardless of the year or what anyone else says part.

And it's not just for 2016, it's basically for EVERY time period that's been aestheticized and romanticized to hell by tiktok and pinterest, AND IT'S NOT EVEN AUTHENTIC 99% OF THE TIME EITHER, it's pathetic.
