A fun fact about me is that I'm good at rhythm games. Like, really really good at them lol. So much so that I get quite a lot of people asking me irl what rhythm games they should start with!
My suggestion, depending on how open to hot anime women they are, tends to be the same. Muse Dash!!!

Muse Dash is a two key horizontal scrolling rhythm game (like taiko no tatsujin). The game is Chinese, but there's songs in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and English in the song list. And the song list is VERY large. They're updating with new songs almost every month. Without the DLC, the game is about $3, perhaps even less than a dollar when it goes on sale, and it comes with about 15 songs. If you wanna try out rhythm games, I think you probably won't find a better deal with that (unless you wanna deal with something kinda homebrewy).
I own the DLC for it called Just As Planned, but this DLC isn't for sale anymore. Basically, it was a one time purchase for about $20, and I automatically get all DLC with it. Nowadays, you have to get a DLC pack called Muse Plus, which doesn't come with all DLC in the future, but it does include most of it. Regardless, it's the best deal I've ever seen for a rhythm game. And because of that, I often buy the base game of Muse Dash as gifts for friends because it's so cheap.

It's one of my favorites. The art style is REALLY up my alley. It's vibrant, colorful, and has cute girls!!!!!!!! The music is great too. A lot of my favorite rhythm game tracks are in it, including select vocaloid tracks. Speaking of, I like that this game has a character selection too. You can even play as miku and various touhou characters lol

There are three main characters in Muse Dash though. There's Rin, Buro, and Marija. Buro is my personal favorite (she's my pfp actually lol). She's so cute and lively and she rides on her big bear friend (his name is Ola).
The
gameplay is also rather easy to pick up on, but it takes a lot of
practice and skill to master, which I really appreciate as a rhythm game
master myself lol. Because it is 2 key, it's pretty simple to start
with if you have no clue what you're doing. You press one key to attack
on the ground, and another to jump and attack the enemies in the air. It's very easy to grasp!
Here's some gameplay I pulled off youtube (not mine).
I love Muse Dash. It's like taiko but with cute girls. And god knows the one way to make me play a game is cute girls lmao. I also used to be a top player of the game fun fact lmao. I used to get top 100 on the leaderboard pretty consistently, and I'd get number 1 when some songs would first come out hehehe. Not so much anymore though. Since then I've gotten more into other rhythm games. But every once in a while I'll come back to Muse Dash and have fun with it. It's a great game. I really recommend it to beginners. If you don't like anime women though... maybe you shouldn't lmao.
I plan on posting more about several rhythm games I like like this in the future, so stay tuned!!! Hehe
