3.4 HONKAI STAR RAIL AMPHOREUS QUEST REVIEW (CONTAINS SPOILERS)

so recently i have been busy with the new HSR update, i've been hyped over the few days before the update so I decided to really throw everything in my schedule away to play everything (that's available) in the recent update, I already finished the trailblaze quest, did the first small event, and also pulled on the new banners (one of my luckiest moments deadass 4 FIVE STAR CHARACTERS and A LIGHTCONE? yeah i think i should get sick more often :P)

so as of now i'm just waiting for the FGO event to launch like I neeeedd to farm for more stellar jades.

today i am going to do a review of the story quest tho since i have been obsessed with it ever since I finished it, it's not going to be in format like the other reviews i did so far bcos i want to write this quickly, so let's get started into it

I want to get this out of the way so I'll start with the aspects of the quest I didn't like, i really didn't like the pacing although I had the whole day to play the entire quest I also need breaks in between so I can do other things the quest didn't really give you a break between the cutscenes much and there was still a lot of things that made me confused with Amphoreus storyline plus pretty much already called the plot twist from afar

now to the good parts(?), i really enjoyed Joshua Waters' performance as Phainon/Khaslana was so wonderful like literal chills especially towards the end, i've always didn't think much about VA work since some of them sometimes makes the characters sound so??? stiff??? emotionless??? but Joshua Waters gave such a good performance I have to mention it.

The visuals were everything like the cutscenes literally was done so well especially the transitions between Khaslana's different cycles I literally loved it and the animated final cutscene was so good (i do think the song didn't really do well with me ngl)

I think this is a well done character arc(?), it's nice to see what actually is happening in reality and how Khaslana and Phainon came to be, also I think the plot where the player could explore Aedes Elysiae was a good decision as it actually humanizes Phainon as a character i've never seen HYV do this well as Phainon (i think they actually did this with Citl*li in Genshin but I dislike that game sm post Natlan let's not talk abt it)

Overall thoughts? I loved it, i never felt this much adrenaline pumped in me??? like now all i want is 3.5 for more of the story
