The Anatomy Of a Fall Review

I began reading AOAF when i was i was 16, i finished it just before i turned 17, so it's been a while! I still think about this fic a lot because honestly i enjoyed it so much. This was the second one i read (i read ASOTM first) out of the big three. 

Especially at the time i was like a total sucker for high school AU's so i really connected with the plot for this. Gerard and Mikey move to a new town, and with that a new school. Whilst Gerard befriends Ray, he finds he doesn't really have any other friends, he's also bullied and i really connected to him when i was 16 as a result BAHAHA. Frank Iero is a ghost that haunts the woods next to the school - he was killed as a teenager by two other students and his body was never found. Gerard and Frank soon befriend each other - and the former is very quick to catch feelings. I really found the plot really engaging, i liked the inclusion of the supernatural elements and i felt like they werent too overbearing on the plot overall. 

Tbh for a fic that is like 15 years old the writing isn't bad at all - i hate to say but especially for a bandom it's reallh well written. The plot is paced well.

I felt honestly that everyone was characterised pretty well - i feel like their personas in the I'm Not Okay MV obviously had a bigger impact on the characterisations than actual stage personas, but that's low-key expected for a high school au.

I loved the inclusion of art in this fanfic. Whilst the scenes already were like described really well it was just a whole other level of detail. I've attatched some of them below. I would've loved to see more of Mikey in this fic. There's also a small snippet fic set after the events of AOAF that i really reccomend - read it once you've read aoaf (read it here).
