oscar died. mom was with him outside and came in to make me supper before my comcert. she went back out and he’d collapsed and there was blood coming out of his mouth. and then he stopped breathing. there was blood all around his head. his eyes were empty. he was still warm when dad and clara left with him. i’d never seen mom cry before. he was 12 years old.
