Heya!!! I've been somewhat of a busy bee so far into the Summer and thought it'd be nice to share some of the stuff I've been spending my time on and maybe some future plans :-D
Imma go all the way back to May, my last month of a 3-month-long internship at our local theater. Dude... what a blast that was. I was helping out in making some props for the Autumn/Winter plays. And I absolutely loved it!!! I wish I could show you guys some of the things I made... but not only am I legally not allowed to post pictures of them online, I'd probably also doxx myself at the same time, so you'll just have to trust my word on this one. Prop making is SUCH A BLAST! Every project is so different from one another. Stage designers (or whatever they're called in english) sometimes come up with the strangest shit. And it's so refreshing. You get a project in your hands that NO ONE has probably done before. And you just have to... figure it out somehow using some creative thinking. Idk... It was dope. I don't actually have the education for shit like that so I was pretty much just listening to instructions, but I think I did pretty well all things considered. Either way! Amazing stuff!!! My time there made me realize how much I enjoy working with my hands, and enjoy my own space. ...Man. I'm gonna miss working there a lot. I always knew I'm not gonna pursue art, since it's such a tough field, but that was suuuch a blast. Also, it's good to note that my dad already works there! (yes... i lowkey got in with nepotism) So I already somewhat knew who my (/his) coworkers are, since for the past 10 years that my dad has worked there, I've always tagged along to watch plays with him. ...Tbh I never really learned their names or faces, so I'm glad I got to actually know everybody now :D Oh man... either way it was such a blast and I'm gonna miss those times a lot. At least I can always return to the theatre as a guest <3
Then! After my internship ended, I headed out to some university enterance exams. ...Honestly... I didn't study at all. So I thought I was fucked. I did 2 exams for two different types of universities we here in Finland have... and yes I completely fucked up the other one. (IT WAS FOR MEDICAL SCHOOL SO NO WONDER FKJDGJKFSDJKG) But surprisingly I did pretty well on the other one! I got instantly accepted to at least 2 universities, and now I'm on my way to attend the one in my city this fall! :D I'm suuuper nervous though. But I think that's only good in my case, since I'm such a lazy student, maybe it'll finally get me off my ass. ...either way AAHH!!! Scary!!! But I'm so happy to finally start a new chapter in my life. You guys have no idea!!!
After the exams, my so-called "summer vacation" started. And with that, all the activities I planned out with my friends!
The first thing we went to, was a (free) anime convention. The others couldn't make it so it was just me and one of my friends. Both of us were feeling a little tired and unsure of everything, but we still decided to go. And surprisingly it was kind of a blast?! Nothing too special, but just a nice calm day. That's sometimes just what you need. ...This one I can actually show pictures of, so behold!
Fit cheeeckkkk!!! Also speaking of clothes, we explored the city a little bit and found an INSANE thrift store. Clothes were like as cheap as 20 CENTS!!! CENTS!??!??! INSANEEEE!!! And we found such good stuff. Omg, going back next year 100%
Week after that, we (me, friend 1 and another friend) decided to check out the Hämeenlinna renfaire! Honestly, for a first-timer it was pretty overwhelming. But I had a pretty good time and will probably go again next year! I don't actually have too much to say about the trip, since it felt like half of the time I was just running around like a headless chicken, trying to figure what was going on. But we got to visit the castle museum, as well as the castle's prison museum. There was also a jousting tourney we watched. I also bought some (handmade) wooden spatulas, since my dad has complained so much about not having any :D
What I also realized on these two trips, is that I actually kinda like spending time alone in such big events like these. It's so easy to lose your friends in the crowd, that I'd rather just not try, and instead focus on doing whatever I want. We got phones, so if I wanna find them, or they wanna find me, we'll just call or text.
Bro the lamb made my heart melt ToT ALSO THOSE STRAWBERRY TREATS WERE HEAVENLY!!!
And then... finally, we get back to current time! I've been working on summer camps the past few weeks. I'm just like a night guard person... whatever. Basically my whole job is to sit in the hallway and make sure the house is quiet during bedtime and that everyone stays in their rooms. Lol. Otherwise I just kinda shit around. This is camp 2/2. I got sick on the last one, and am still a little stuffy nosed, but otherwise everything's going good. I got a bunch of friends working here with me, so the week is gonna be a blast, I bet :]
OMG AND ALSO THE PEOPLE LIVING NEXT TO THE CAMPGROUNDS HAVE A CUTE GRAY CAT THAT I'VE SEEN AROUND AND I WANNA BE ITS FRIEND SO BADDD!!! IT'S BEEN STALKING ME EVERY NOW AND THEN AND I PRETEND NOT TO SEE IT BUT OMG I JUST WANNA PET T_T
But yeah... that's about it, I hope the yap sesh was coherent, since I'm writing this at 5AM, right before going to sleep
You guys have a good one, thanks for reading if you made it this far! :P
