Celebrating 100+ members on the Myspace group...

By Kadavera, 2/6/2025– I'm finally back for an update... and I wanna talk about the future of this group since my good ol' friend Jo beat me to the announcement... apologies to everyone and FU to Jo. 

Anyways, I don't think anybody really knows what this group even is. I don't either, honestly. I'm still figuring that out myself.

So, what is the MySpace group? 

Well, there's the description for that... I guess I mean to answer the real question, "Why?". 

Kinda long story short, I've been on this site for a while now, what's just a month away from 4 years, and honestly, the direction the majority of Spacehey's userbase took with this site... sucks. 

I'm sure a lot of you know the issues– drama blogs, the joining and ditching, the sea of generic, if not almost blank unoriginal copy-paste profiles... which are greatly due to people expecting this site to emulate the likes of the crappy mainstream social media we have today, and even wish to turn Spacehey into just that. Most users don't even stick around because of those failed expectations.  

So not only do I wanna see more of the old school MySpace design and feel, but I also wanna change those expectations by helping people understand what Myspace was, and what Spacehey is. That especially matters for those like me who were way too young for Myspace in its heyday. 

And no, that doesn't mean we gotta stay stuck in the past, hell no. This is the future. (unfortunately?) And we have control of our future.

You decide what the internet is. We don't have much choice but there is some choice, and that's why we have sites like Spacehey, an antithesis to the commercial, hungry sell-outs that adorn the modern internet, designed to suck your blood in turn for your time and attention... mutual in concept, but completely exploited.

Ahem, so Happy 100+ Members!

Now that I have more of audience here, I have more of a reason to dedicate time to this thing. And in doing so, I wanna keep this group active for as long as it stands, a challenge an unfortunate majority of Spacehey groups face.
