I am an aetheist, I don't belive in any gods and i sincerely don't undedtand religions.
Don't get me wrong if you believe in a religion that's fine and i respect it. If you do believe in something I'd recomend to not keep reading since i already know ur not going to like my opinion, but if u keep reading bc ur curious thanks for taking time to read me, I'll do my best to not offend anyone and be as respectful as i can. If u don't believe in anything like me, hope u enjoy this haha..
So... If u think abt it this way, what is science? Facts, statements, they're objective things. And what are religious? Beliefs, opinions, subjective topics. Honestly, I understand it's nice to believe in a god and so, but it just doesn't make sense to me. If you listen to the bibles or the stories of different religious, they don't make sense. For example, christianity. It is physically impossible for a man to walk on water, or a snake talking human lenguages is also stupid. Anyone with enough IQ would know. ''But Max, it's faith'' Right, faith is a feeling, not proof.
Back in time, when people didn't even know about Earth being a sphere, since we didn't have much knowledge about anything, we looked for answers, and i'm pretty sure someone who was desperate made up religions to feel complete.
Also, religions have HURT humanity in many ways. Religions have caused uncountable deaths, tortures, wars and problems. Yes, that was before, but what about now? Think about that unnamable German man who caused the deaths of millions of innocent people, or how the religion where women have to cover up their hair bc their god demand them to, think about how many women are being opressed, abused and even killed bc of their beliefs. Think about how many homosexuals have been sentanced to death just because their god didn't allow them to love who they wanted to love, think about how many people feel controlled by their churches or closed-minded families and can't e fully happy... Seriously, think about it.
I used to be christian as a kid becuase my family used to be religious, though not anymore, but we suffered a lot bc of that. I remember feeling guilty bc I laughed at adult jokes and cried myself to sleep, thinking i'd go to hell, I remember how disgusted i was of myself when i found out i was both attracted to boys and girls, i remember how my parents where scammed and gave away money we never had in return to a church we no longer have a relationship with, I remember how i used to discriminate other people for being trans, for being boys who liked painting their nails or wearing a skirt, for being girls who liked cutting their hair short or do stuff that was normally assigned to the male sex, i remember how I used to be so small-minded, i still remember how religion has damaged me and my family so much and i'm so glad we got out of there.
Religions are one of the ugliest things created by humans and it's like some kind of poison that kills a part of society everyday... I said i'd go easy, but i couldn't help myself, sorry ^^``.
In other words, if you believe in any type of religion or magic, i won't treat you badly as long as you don't try to make me believe the same thing, but i hope i made you rethink a little bit. Hopefully, religion does not cause anymore damage and little by little ppl start opening their eyes sooner, bc when i stopped believing in god istg, i felt so... free, and calm and well and... great.
EDIT: I want to clarify what there is: Space, infinite space, celestial bodies, stars, planets, lots of things. So far, that is all that exists and yes, we still don't know if there are other lives or societies out of the milky way, but with time we'll know. For now, we know what we know.

A lot of stories in religious texts are read and interpreted as stories and metaphors.
Liberal Christians don't believe Jesus walked on water and that Noah made an ark but they believe in the messages and teachings behind these stories.
I dont believe its fair to say all religions hurt humanity.
Religion is often a source of pain due to the "big" ones being people led.
When religion is led by people its often used to manipulate and control.
The ones that didn't don't survive since their groups aren't as organized.
Its not religion that's bad (the belief in higher power) but its people leading religions for personal gain that hurts humanity.
Religion hurts people when its used as a tool. We dont blame the knife for a murder or a hammer for being destructive we blame the people wielding them.
Also i would argue that believing in a lot of science takes faith as well.
I've personally never seen an atom or personally seen someone walk on the moon and while I find these ideas more believable then religious ones they do take faith to believe in.
I have faith that the dinosaurs exist in the same way people have faith Jesus did.
You found freedom in not believing in god and some people find it in their beliefs.
My partner has an uncle who is a priest and wrote the book Gay and God.
Religion brings meaning and joy into his life not pain and restraint.
If you dont believe in god you believe we die with no afterlife.
And whether theres is one or not I wish I could believe there is an afterlife since it would make living a little less scary.
But since there isnt anything after we die improving our lives with faith might be more important.
As long as you don't hurt ppl with your beliefs that's okay, I can respect that! But you see, you say you believe in afterlife because it makes death less scary and you're believing in it to avoid being scared of it. Also, science is proved, which is something religion hasn't done. Anyway, i do understand why you'd believe in god bc when i was a kid i believed in it for the same reason, and that's okay.

Nah man i said "i wish i could believe" in that stuff.
Science has been proved sure but you havent seen this proof directly.
I BELIEVE in atoms but I cant see them :p
I have FAITH that they exist cause that makes logical sense to me.
But religion makes logical sense to some people.
How can something come from nothing yk
I STILL THINK SCIENCE IS MORE BELIEVABLE AND LOGICAL THEN A LOT OF RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. But it follows the same logic.
So to believe in something hypothetical like atoms but call people silly for believing in a hypothetical man who lived in the past doesnt make sense to me.
