Even like the instrumentals have the whine of breathing, seeking life. It is both fog seen on a lake from the dock and shivering as the sun rises. It is both starting a fire in a wood stove in a converted garage and the smoke that leaks in through the broken exhaust pipe. It is both the echo of the best nights of your life and the worst hangovers you find yourself unable to sleep off. It is both stumbling down closed roads in an isolated mill town and being stopped and talked to by the cops. It is both the warmth of a body you've missed and the longest walk home you will ever know.
