Text Me When You Miss Me

It’s late at night, and I’m overthinking again, the way I always do when the world goes quiet. And somehow, I always find my mind drifting back to the same topic, love. Not the kind you see in movies or read about in poems, but the kind we live with today, through screens, voice notes, half read messages, and conversations that almost feel like something more

We live in a world where love is measured in texts and seen zones, where “I miss you” is typed between scrolling and distractions. We're always talking, always connected, yet somehow, connection feels rarer than ever. The comfort of constant notifications has replaced the depth of real presence, and we’ve started to confuse availability with emotional intimacy.

You can message someone all day and still feel unknown. You can sleep on call every night and still not feel emotionally safe. We've mastered the art of constant contact, but forgotten how to actually reach one another. We talk more, but understand less. We reply fast, but connect slow.

True connection isn’t in how quickly someone texts back, it’s in the silence they’re willing to hold with you. It’s not in 100 conversations about nothing, but in the one conversation where you feel completely seen. Real love shows up even when there’s nothing to say. It doesn't need to be loud to be loud enough.

So, don’t just text me when you miss me. Call me when your soul feels heavy. Speak to me when you're too tired to pretend you're fine. Don’t give me a love that’s always online, give me a love that knows how to pause, stay, and be there, even in the quiet.

Honestly same. It’s something so many of us long for but rarely find these days. A love that feels safe, deep, and real, not just constant notifications but actual presence.

Dawg I love how you wrote this!! I haven't really been reading much of anything recently but while reading this randomly i was like whoa! and like dang that is so real! I don't know if my compliments can weigh as heavy as those of others but I appreciated this man! Made me reflect on my own situations too hehe. Much love! <3

That means so much, fr. The fact that it made you pause and reflect, that’s honestly the biggest compliment I could ask for. And don’t even downplay your words, they hit deep. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and share that. Much love back at you 🤍

Wow, thank you so much, your words genuinely mean a lot to me. Modern intimacy does ache in quiet, confusing ways, and I’m just trying to make sense of it through these late night thoughts. I’m really glad this piece resonated with you the way it did. Here’s to craving something deeper in a world full of noise 🤍
