Science and humanities

Hello!

DISCLAIMER: ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE! SORRY FOR POTENTIAL MISTAKES!!

Why do many people think that being good at science (maths, phisics etc.) is better than being good at humanities?? I don't get it. I suck at maths and I don't know why. I really do try to learn it, study it but I just can't. It really pisses me off when someone calls me dumb for not knowing how to do "easy" math assignment (but mostly I get sad and lose my willingness to learn it).

My friends have been teaching me for a while and I really do appreciate it!! Sadly I still have to figure out how certain things work. If you guys know any advise for me on how to finally get it plzz write some.

I don't think that I'm super big brain in humanities - no. I sure, am better in this kinds of stuff, but that's not my point. I just don't get it!! Why people who know maths get praised EASILY, but ppl with high knowledge about history, philosophy, knowing other language, knowing grammar (!some ppl good at maths don't know basic grammar and they are still more appreciated) are not? That's upsetting.

Also, I'm not 100% sure, but the tests on IQ level are mostly just maths questions...? I don't know. Are people who are not good at math just stupid? That.. does not make any sense. But I don't know this.

ANYWAY, thank you guys for reading this! Luv ya, smile!!

I HATE THIS SO MUCH!!!!

I've always been VERY GOOD at humanities (like, i knew everything; I could read and write perfectly while my schoolmates were still learning the letters of the alphabet), but I only started being called smart after i began learning math (I was really bad at it)

Anyway, if you're REALLY bad at it, I'd advise you to study the subjects that primary school children learn, those basic addition and subtraction activities, you know, and then gradually increase the difficulty... It was the only way I found to really improve...

(English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes... I'm still learning)

Well... I think it's because Math has a heavier weight (along with Language). I'm good at Physics and Biology, but I'm awful at history and I'm still kind of bad at grammar, and people have said to me, 'Wait, you're so smart but you don’t know that?

Obs: I am not an English speaker

This is upsetting. Totally relate. I think that all subjects are important and all of them can be difficult for some ppl. I don't understand this idea to call someone stupid for not knowing smth. This is shit.

it's good to remember that humanitarian courses are also science! just not in the traditional data analysis way,but in a way that traverses the human psyche.

Yes, it is! But I mean science = maths; maths =/= humanities. In that way, yk.
