███████████
It was just another day in Long Road, same as always. Repair the ai, run from Bunnbons, go help Honeywhisker with her garden out of the guilt he felt. Pizzapurr rarely ever did anything different in this place.
But today would be different. Pizzapurr had managed to get some Skyflowers, specifically the sunset ones. Honeywhisker loved those but only had three growing in her garden, since they're rarer than a black and dark red house in Long Road.
He walked quietly, constantly looking around to make sure nothing came crawling out of the ground. A few houses had changed, some changing colors, others having different yards. The hills in the far distance had started to turn orange, first signs of Newsun coming.
About halfway to Honeywhiskers house, he felt an itch on his arm. Glancing down, he noticed that mold was growing on one of his pepperonis. Pizzapurr quickly plucked it off and tossed it in his mouth, ignoring the sour taste.
It always felt weird to rot, yet not actually die in a sense? He was a food product after all, but he never feared the idea of molding. He'd just become Molderpizza or something, like what happened to Aqua a few months ago.
Finally having reached the doorstep of Honeywhiskers house, he knocked on the door softly. He heard the clinking of chains and locks before the door cracked open, Honeywhisker glaring at him.
Hiiiiii, Honeyyyyyy
...hey, Pizza. Why are you here, the sun is far from setting yet
Pizzapurr hold out the bunches of Skyflowers in his paws, grinning as wide as any Catloe even can. The orange petals shone bright from inside, the nearby honeycharms seeming to already affecting them. Honeywhisker sighed softly and opened the door fully, leaning on the frame.
How much of your body rotted to get these?
Pizzapurr just shrugged, glancing down at the patch of bare cheese on his arm. A new slice of jalapeno was growing in the place of the pepperoni, the itchiness getting slightly worse by the minute
Precious Pizzapurr, the only reason you're alive is because someone likes you. Your old self would have been left behind if it was up to me.
Don't you remember yet, Pizza cheddar Purr? Your memories aren't yours, you're nothing more than a clone. The version of you that matters is still in Storage, falling apart
Pizzapurr was walking away from Honeywhisker's house after an evening of gardening when his nose started bleeding tomato sauce. This had started happening recenly, and he couldn't figure out the reason why...
At the end of every day this past week, he would start to feel a deep fear inside him. He felt as if he needed to stay next to Honeywhisker, or something bad would happen again. Something he couldn't remember
The sun had already gone past the hills at this point, leaving the sky in a deep orange color. Pizzapurr didn't know where to go exactly, since he never really had his own house. He had always just hunted for things and slept at Honeywhisker's if she let him
He felt that deep fear building again, making him stop. Pizzapurr wanted to turn around and run, but it would be stupid if he did. How would he explain himself and this...pointless fear he felt. All he could do was ignore it
Maybe his dreams had something to do with it. Dreams of falling stars, scorching the ground and the sky turning white. Houses burning down and his own body breaking apart, wandering a place that rotted away
Pizzapurr just stood there for a few minutes, thinking deeply when something bumped into him. Looking down, he saw the small ai robot that patrolled the streets. He had fixed its wheel this morning, so it was probably just...following him
The small machine "looked" up at him, the damaged camera making a humming sound as it tried, and failed, to process what Pizzapurr was feeling at the moment. Its speaker played static softly, almost like it was confused
HE just walked away from it, heading down the road. Maybe Pizzapurr could lock himself in an abandoned house and avoid the Bunnbonns before they arrived. Their small tunnels in the grass were already glowing, a sign the lanterns had turned on
Honeywhisker watched Pizzapurr walk away from the window of the second floor bedroom. He had stood there in the road for a few minutes before leaving, and she couldn't figure out why. She also noticed the small tomato sauce trail he left, a sign Pizzapurr was bleeding again
She leaned against the wall and turned around, facing the only other Catloe that was still...alive...in Long Road, Stoneclaw. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, carving something small he held in his paws.
Are you almost done, Stoney?
Stoneclaw didn't reply, but his face twitched from the nickname. He held up a chipped heart crystal, the faint blue reminding both of them who it belonged to. Soon enough, Aqua would be back from the dead, given a second chance
They just had to finish before Sunrot started. Honeywhisker glanced at the skyflowers Pizzapurr got, having put them in a cracked vase. The flowers had already started wilting, showing that only a few more weeks were left
You really just refuse to die, huh? Aqua was never real, just like your "friend" Pizzapurr. Stop fighting for a second life

Help me. I can't see, I can't breathe, and I'm starting to lose myself to this glowing light. I don't want to rot away again
Nemph had been standing by the glass doors to his balcony for a few hours now. Whatever the [Puppeteer] had done had worked, and the clouds had faded and the rain wasn't flooding in anymore
He was just staring outside blankly, thinking hard to himself. Ever since he had brought his mom back, he had still felt as if someone was out there that he just...couldn't find.
He thought about asking Nyla about it, asking if he somehow had siblings. But if she hadn't told him yet, it was probably for a good reason. His mom was a smart woman after all, so maybe his siblings had done something
But that didn't matter at the moment, the moon had nearly reached it's highest point in the sky. Stepping over his mom's sleeping body, he grabbed an old blue firework off the shelf and headed up to the top of the castle
Nemph quietly sat on the edge on the castles tower, holding the firework in his paws. He lit it and tossed it into the sky, letting it fly high and exploding into a bright blue lightning bolt that covered the moon just as it reached the highest it would
He missed Bolts.

Nemph was standing on the balcony outside his room, staring out over the town. It had been really warm the past few days, not many clouds coming to block out the sun for a few hours. Bolts was sleeping on Nemph's bed quietly, unbothered by the orange rays of light coming in
Riptide stood next to Nemph on the balcony, looking extra...interesting...with the sun reflecting on him. He was staring more up at the sky, watching the CCESSU (Catloe Canyon Evacuation and Survival Space Unit) float by in the sky. It was set to fully come back down with his brother and Fireslash's brother, Firelog, sometime tomorrow before sunrise
They both watched as a loose firework flew out the doors of Fireslash's Firework shop and went full force into the face of Dreammaker, exploding him into a bunch of purple sparkles. A few minutes later, he walked out the front doors of the castle, Nemph having gone down to revive him with the respawn machine
As Nemph was walking back to the stairs to head back up to his room and watch over the town, he passed by the front desk. His brothers, Nozzy and Naze, were talking to Vinetails in a lour ==d excited rush. It seemed as if the circus was coming around soon, and they were asking Vinetails if they could be allowed to perform again this year
Knowing how he was, he would say yes. Everyone around loved watching the twins perform their acrobatic tricks, swinging flaming swords up in the air and catching them mid-air. Nemph was glad he was related to those two, and that his family was still together
Nemph quietly went back up to his room, thinking about the one member of the family that was missing. He had never met Nightshade, his father, but his mom always said he looked like him besides his brighter fur. He never found out what had happened, and it seemed not even his mom knew
It didn't matter anymore though. As long as Nemph's siblings, mom, and Bolts were around, he would be happy.

Bolts had been dreaming a lot recently, and he didn't think it was because of how comfortable Nemph's bed was. He had dreams about catwalks, the respawn machine, a weird backdoor out of reality into a place made of code. He had yet to tell anyone besides Shockz, his best friend that hated him
Another thing he had noticed was how the other members of the Main Team (Dreammaker, Fireslash, Riptide, Vinetails, Nemph) had been acting...different. Fireslash seemed to have had cracks form in his rocky body, covered by his fire fur
Riptide had gotten more angry, seeming to think two thoughts at once. Bolts had even seen the day that Riptide had flooded the entire Fireslash Fireworks shop just because Fireslash had commented on the relationship between Riptide and Vinetails
On the topic of Vinetails, he had gotten skinnier. Not unhealthy skinny, but skinnier than the average Catloe in Light Town, which was odd. Maybe he had been working out a bit recently, which would make sense since he was always out at Riptide's house
Dreammaker hadn't changed much on the surface, but deeper within was completely different. He was now quiet, kept secrets, and only ever stayed in the Lon Library, reading books on the history of the Nighshade family (which Nemph was part of)
But Bolts hadn't changed, or so he really thought. He was still the stupid, overly energetic, maybe-gay-for-Nemph mismatch of blue electricity he had been seven years ago. The only things that had changed was that he slept in Nemph's bed now and was helping build a place called "Sprinklet's Bakery"
Speaking of, Bolts had actually finished the last of his work for helping the builders. His fur was coated in a thick layer of dust, and the false sun in the sky was setting, turning the sky a dark, beautiful orange color. Nemph would probably be heading to bed soon after watching over the town, so Bolts had to be quick to get back
Rubbing his paws together quickly for a moment, he zapped his fur clean of the dust and spun around, becoming pure energy and zipping across the road to the castle. The ground had always had tons of copper in it for some reason, which helped him go anywhere he wanted as fast as needed. After a few seconds, he slammed against the glass doors of the castle and reformed into himself
He quickly barged through the doors and ran past Vinetails, who was packing up his stuff from the desk to go to Riptide's house for the night. Bolts ran up the stairs, tripping on the third one of the fifth flight like always, since it just kinda happened
Finally having reached the door of the second highest room in the castle, he didn't even knock, just slipped into the room. Just as he thought, Nemph, with his bright blue fur that turned darker in the setting sunlight, was sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for him
Nemph suddenly sat up, having been awoken from a very deep sleep. The bright white lights hurt his eyes for a second but got adjusted very quickly as he looked around. He didn't have a shirt, or pants, or any of his stuff except a small pair of black underwear.
Nemph was on a sort of table thing in a room that looked like a hospital. He noticed how the dark splotches on his fur from previous deaths were gone, and that his chest was stitched shut. His body had been...fixed, something he hadn't wanted.
He got up off the table and stepped out of the room into the hallway, where many greyler (powerless) Catloes in everything from Hazmat suits to scientist coats walked, checking up on other patients. He could see Fireslash in one of the rooms, chained down as his flames burned too hot for his body to handle, his eyes white-hot and frothing at the mouth
One of the "doctors" ran up to Nemph, quickly scrambling to pull out a clipboard and pen while trying to push Nemph back into his room.
⬜ S-sir Nemph Ozzy Nightshade, you can't out of your room yet! You need time to hel and let your powers settle back into y-
Nemph quickly silenced him by grabbing him by the neck, slamming him into the wall and walked farther down the hall to the exit. More doctors tried to stop Nemph, but he simply slowed time down and pushes the sleep darts away from him. He hadn't wanted his power back, he never asked for it.
Just a few steps away from the exit and his knees went weak. He fell to the floor, feeling the effects of his power already rotting his thoughts. He was nobody, a king that didn't deserve this power that had been reignited inside him.
Fireslash, Riptide, Bolts, Vinetails
Hell, even Dreammaker would've been better with this power
Better kings than me
Better brothers than ME
A BETTER CATLOE THAN I COULD EVER EVEN DESIRE TO BE.
I AM NOTHING
USELESS
A KING THAT FAILED HIS KINGDOM!
WHY DID THEY GIVE ME BACK THESE DAMN POWERS
I DON'T DESERVE THEM, AND I NEVER DID
I'm sorry, mother Nyla.
I failed you.
I couldn't be the son you wanted to watch grow.
I'll never grow.
I-
I'll be dead by the time the sun rises tomorrow, atop fathers grave. Just like the dreams told me. Nobody will even remember my name.
