I've been studying for history finals but uuggggggghhhhhh I can't make myself read the fifth course book... It's so boringggg
The theme of it is "From the Eastern Part of Sweden to Finland", but it should be called "Swedish history, but Finland is also there I guess and mostly just gets fucked over and it cuts off when Sweden loses Finland to Russia so it doesn't even teach about the independence war which makes the to Finland part confusing"
All the interesting bits are so short (Kalmar union doesn't even get its own chapter and the chapters are already short!!) and it focuses more on like... the economy?? Like I don't gaf 😭😭. And the finals exam only has one 20 point part about the fifth course!! (the whole test consist of five 20 point and three 30 point parts and you choose 3-4 20 point parts and 1-2 30 point parts)
So I've decided to just not read the course book at all... and instead read this twice as big history book I found at the library. The Kalmar union gets a whole section!! And it's much more in depth about the events than the course book. And it has a much more fitting name: When Finland was Sweden (by Herman Lindqvist).
The course book is 202 pages (with pictures) and this book is 472 pages (without personal directory) but I have 2 1/2 months to read this before the finals! Also, this way I can trick myself into thinking I'm not doing school stuff and actually enjoy reading this ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
