family trees bear fruitless dwellings
a relentless whistle that tears through broken homes
searching for an artificial mother's instinct.
you call for aid behind locked doors,
assayingΒ who is at your beck and call.
sustaining deep-rooted resent;
they deem you unreachable through the self-construct of barriers
fabricated by none other than yours truly.
loneliness; an ache so dull you'd mistake it for flatlining
the solitary are deluded into their isolationΒ
setting up camp on premature deathbeds
so they can spendthrift borrowed time.
on a loan of olive branches,
sowed in the ground you pray to become one with;
do you think the dead envy the warm bodied?
permit yourself to roam earth so imperfect...
maybe then you'll understand.
as you bypass through vestibules,
you catch sight of varied elevationsΒ
pencilled into wood carvings
your eyes in equipoise with the tallest marking...
someday you'll feel insouciance towards growing older
once you realise it comes with the promise of getting better.
