I don't like tanning

Idk if it's just me but I really don't like tanning, or the idea of getting tan. I don't like really the idea of sitting in the direct sun for long. I always put my sunscreen on while others shake their heads and call me unhealthy or crazy and that tan is pretty. Every time I go out without sunscreen my skin is instantly burnt and I look like a lobster. I also don't wanna get skin cancer, and I tell the others that but they don't care much and still go to the sun unprotected.
