I hope this blog after the first one doesn't seem so negative. but I my june has been quite rough from emotional issues. but there are a few highlights. for one, I started this blog or spacehey thing after quitting twitter (somewhat).
I thought the customization options needs for me was so necessary after spending so much time learning HTML and CSS in university and p5.js for my thesis. Even though I have a substack. Still, I do have to rely on some tools like Github's coding assistant Copilot to sort out CSS alignments (always a paint). I think they can call that "vibe coding" now.. I'm not sure. But here are a few highlights this month.

music reccs
This month i started out by listening to a lot of EDM/Gabber such as Juggernaut - "Got 2 be a Ruffneck! It's definitely not for everyone but I haven't gone to a rave or party in such a long time.. and they barely play Gabber at the local events i attend, only hard techno of the sorts ugh.
I ended up listening to a bunch of soul - r&b - indie rock - shibuyakei - shoegaze by the end of the month due to a sudden heartbreaking event. But prior to that I was constantly sending cute music to them.. And because I cannot stop thinking of them the moment they let me go, I am dumping all of them here...
I cannot actually believe it but the highlight of the month was listening to the a lot of shibuya-kei band Chocolat. And guess what, they released a super cute (and so sad) album named "Hamster" in 1999. My favorite song on the album is "Baseball to Elvis Presley". I love hamsters so much, they remind me of fluffy times and how much love in their eyes they can hold.. I always sent pictures of fat hamsters to them when we were together. I always wondered if they actually didn't feel annoyed by all of that.
clothing haul
These are mostly from mercari.jp but also taobao and other second hand instagram pages in my area
1. Baby The Stars Shine Bright - Pink Tartan JSK (2011)
3. MILK - Cherry Lace Camisole
4. AnTaiNa* - Custom red platform Mary Janes (note: makes me feel tall :) )
ramble thoughts
It is quite a shame that not too many of my friends are active here, and I do understand, it is clunky. Often glitchy and overwhelming if one does not know how to code to make things look mildly nice. I however think of it as reminiscent of one of my favorite movies of all time; Gio Escobar - "Afroprojection #1: The Sweet Atmosphere Phased at 120° and Went Blank When the Universe Collapsed" (2018). Where the entire movie used gifcities' early internet GIFS and simple editing effects to beautifully illustrate on black psychiatry, geopolitical issues, colonization. It is a must watch and I'm afraid most of the time the movie is hosted online on x sites and very hard to find..
Do people consider their spacehey creations as "internet art"? Like a beautiful world of digital colllages, even I myself as a print-focused artist I am so in love with early technology's approach to web design, I love tacky layouts - bright colors and things that most designers consider as "kitschy" and outright unusable as a website nowadays. Spacehey might be a part of another treasure box where I keep sacred secrets.
