franz von bayros oohhh

this one work by franz von bayros really caught my eye and rubbed on me in all the good parts. i love, love how it's very loose, the medium of the watercolor, i believe? shines through with the layers upon layers of colors in the washes. i think the composition is also very beautiful; the woman, in a way, is kind of like a part of the statue behind her, she resembles it with her pose, that she's part of the structure of this very pretty place. her skin is also the same with the archway at the back, and i do also like how she's shrouded with the shadow like the one behind her too. the only thing that separates her from being the sculptor's work is nature herself, with the large bush of those big ass flowers i would assume ? beautiful. its not refined, the details aren't all there though it makes it more appealing for me. despite the looseness, it still creates and emphasizes the shapes very strongly, and it's easy to distinguish the foreground as the woman and her little tiger cub, midground of the statue, background of the pool and the archway, and farther back with the brushstrokes of the lush green of the trees there. i do love the brushstrokes here very much, they're quite controlled wherein it's conscious of each part so it's still cohesive to the audience but still free to influence the colors, not minding a somewhat blurry distinction among them. oh, the stripes of the cub, the shadows on the petals, the form and movement !! of the static statue even if it's mostly in shadow there, the way the vertical lines on the pool shows the reflection of the archway and how the leaves of the trees kind of softly skim over the edges of the quite harsh geometric planes of the edifice (sry ran out of words xD) is such a nice contrast, very very beautiful. i need a print of this on my wall fr fr
