If you're paying attention to the news *at all* in the USA, we've just had some incredibly fucked up things happen. 

More of less what the largest point boils down to is that the Executive Branch of the Regime is beholden to no court except the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court is stacked in their favor.

This will likely end up with birthright citizenship taken away for many people, and it's going to get fucking MESSY.

The Soviet Government decided one day that they would deport all Giraffes in their country, and posted it in everywhere.

The next day a deer in the forest sees a fox running hell bent for the border. He stops the fox and asks him why he's leaving. "It's only giraffes that have anything to worry about! You're a fox!" The deer says.

It doesn't matter who you are, whether you're legal, your parents are legal, or your grandparents are legal. If they want you gone, they will remake the rules so that they can legally make you disappear.

I have a friend whose mom is a naturalized citizen, but he was born here before her citizenship was approved (it took over a decade, and she followed all the correct legal channels, BTW). He's already very visibly Mexican which puts him at risk, but being born to a non-citizen mother? He could just up and be disappeared one day.

Hell, even I'm at risk, even though it's much further down the line than my friend's very immediate danger. My tribe is fighting for federal recognition, which is a political status (not religious or racial).

What if we get it, and by declaring ourselves sovereign citizens, the Regime decides we are untrustworthy or dangerous to the Jesus and the American Way? Well, we're "sOvErEiGn" so they could declare us non-citizens, strip us of everything, and throw our asses in jails or camps untl they decide what to do with us (which WILL be Residential Schools and Allotments 2.0).

Even in the short term, there has been postulations about having recognized citizenship in certain states of the USA, but not others, a la early Gay Marriage (married in California, not married in Montana).

This shit is a clusterfuck and it's terrifying, because we've gone from chipping away at the Constitution to actively blasting it with dynamite, and from where I stand, I can see guys stacking the rubble for people holding blueprints.

The One Drop rule.

Blood Quantum.

Jim Crow laws.

The Indian Solution.

Magdalene Laundries.

We're in for a bad decade (or more!) because those architects of destruction are going to build their protections strong and deep, and they will booby-trap every brick. They're not going to let it be dismantled without even more blood and lives.
