Ok so, i watched Squid game S3...

Ok so first i was really against watching it because i usually followed the silent rule that everything that has so much hype ends up being bad or overhyped more than it deserves. But, i literally had nothing to watch and was bored and ended up watching it after season 2 coming out by a bit.

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 SQUID GAME!!

So if you didn't see it yet don't read...or do, it's not like I'll stop ya r8?

Ok so where do i start, most of episode one was just Gi-hun (456) was glaring daggers at Dae-ho (388) like he just killed his whole family in front of him?? T_T like ok i get that Dae-ho was one of the factors that the rebellion wasn't successful because he could have bought the magazines earlier but THINK ABOUT IT, nearly everything happened in a short amount of time, most likely a few minutes and maybe he wouldn't have even reached where they were shooting the guards and would have got killed on his way there? Also i get that he was scared, i mean, anyone in his place would have been like only a few had the guts to get out and fight. Also now that we know this season that he never held a gun or was in the military to begin with.

I get why Gi-hun was upset but putting the full blame on him wasn't being rational. But also aside from that suddenly Dae-ho snaps like out of nowhere and keeps telling Gi-hun that it's his fault, for some reason it felt out of character, like something was missing in the middle. Maybe should have showed more events happening that leads him to slowly lose it and ends up being like that? Also was killed off fast like we didn't even get to know more about him and they just turned him into "I'm just a loser who was trying to find a group to stick with because I'm a coward and can't do anything on my own" . Imo the infamous PTSD theory (as much as it would have been expected since half of the fandom were talking about it) i think it would have been more interesting.

Also HYUN-JU (120) DYING??? THAT FUCKING EARLY???!!!

Like how??? Ok i get the creator said that SG's ending is not gonna be a happy one and the first thing that came to mind that all fan favorites will die but i didn't expect them to kill her that fast! She had so much potential to continue. Like i crashed out during her death and (Geum-ja's (149) tbh, kinda shed a tear there.) more than the ending itself. But also how tf did she not look behind her before walking back to the room where she was with 149 and 222? That's a literal hide and seek and during the game it showed us how careful she was with every step she was taking while being with them AND THEN SUDDENLY....ok ok, I'll just say she was blinded by victory and was thinking that this is it, they will make it out and you can notice it from how hopeful she sounded in her last moments, so yeah, she was caught off guard. But again, wasted potential in my opinion (RIP Queen, hope you're up there kickin MG coin's ass in the afterlife as we're talking) (did u get that she's my fav? Lol)

Also saw some comments about how Geum-ja's choice of killing her son Yong-sik (007) didn't make sense since...yeah it's her own son but if yoi think about it he wasn't gonna make ot to begin with. The countdown was almost up and his mother was already making it clear to him the "if you wanna kill her you have to go through me" kinda thing and he wouldn't have had time to find another hider to kill them, so his end was certain anyway.

One thing that made me chuckle a bit was when the shaman lady calmly closed the door right she was just telling them THE EXIT IS THIS WAY and all that and then just... calmly walks away and Nam-gyu (124) and MG coin just jump on her followers and start stabbin them, it was hilarious.

Min-su taking a dark turn and turning into a drug addict was kinda surprising but it was the final push he needed fo completely lose it after Se-mi's death in season 2, so yeah, one of the things that made sense. His death was kinda sad, especially that the last thing he saw was se-mi telling him to come with her. As if telling him that he'll be able to join her by dying which shows how deeply he cared for her that even in his hallucinations he saw her, at the ending and before that in hide and seek.

Also wth was that baby and why did she look like that? I get that they didn't wanna risk hurting a real baby while filming stuff like jump the rope. Like if you're not that good with CGI just don't show her face maybe? Add some noises like when she cries or whatever but not show her face if she looks like dat the only scene where she looked real was at the very ending where she was at jun-ho's apartment at the end. I mean, it's not like this affected the plot of course butwas just pointing it out (even if it's obvious lol)

Also as much as i hated that some players that we never heard of ended up making it to the end AND as anyone with favorites would have preferred that if some of the players we knew (aside from min-su and MG coin) BUT I can't deny that their dynamic was interesting (i loath player 100 he's the worst-) but I'm speaking as in characters, the way they were thinking, their ruthlessness, most of the characters that we knew and liked kinda had a heart in them so obviously it would have been that they sacrifice themselves one by one until the remaining people reach the end or something like that. But seeing this group cornering Gi-hun and not caring about the baby made it more tense and interesting.

MG COIN, that pathetic excuse of a father, worst dad of the year, i hold so much hatred towards that man. I get that everyone who came to the games came for the money (except Gi-hun) but going too far that you would kill your own child for the money on purpose?? (I know Geum-ja did the same but she didn't do it out of greed, not the "eliminating a player means more money for me" mentality) but HE did. i just...i just can't with this man but i can't say it wasn't interesting to watch...

Also the ending was kinda logical, especially when they decided to make the baby a player so it was expected that Gi-hun would follow the group and meet his fate as well. It gives a good message that unfortunately he couldn't succeed in stopping the games which shows that obviously it can't take one, or even a group to stop something that it games ran by billionaires but it seemed that it caught In-ho off guard a bit since he expected Gi-hun to go down the same path like how he gave him the same opportunity he was given to kill the other players in their sleep to win but he didn't while In-ho did. How any of them would expect that in the position Gi-hun was put in when things didn't go according to plan (since no one pressed the button for the round to start in the final game so MG coin's death didn't count and it was just Gi-hun and the baby).

The last few minutes of the final episode where In-ho goes to Gi-hun's daughter in the US to give her her father's money from the previous game and his game's outfit. We see a recruiter who was playing dakkji with a poor man. Which proves us more that Gi-hun wouldn't be able to make it since the games seem to be something international, not only in Korea.

I'm sure most would agree when i say it should stop here since the message has already been delivered to the viewers but unfortunately, it's Netflix we're talking about. But i hope that there's a chance that the picture that has been leaked about how there will be spin-offs of SG would be fake and they would just stop it at this season. Especially that the creator already was planning to end the series at season one so it has already reached its max. I don't think any future projects related to it would earn any success more than the original one.

Overall, the season wasn't THAT bad in my opinion, but for sure there was some flaws in it that could have been avoided...

Phew, in the end, everyone of course has their own opinions but i for sure wanted to share mine with y'all.

Wrote this with 4 hours of sleep and being out all day since morning but i rlly wanted to write that lol since i finished it last night. Anyway yeah, thanks for coming to my TED talk. BYE!

Lmao i didn't recognize Dae-ho either like dawg u ok T_T To be honest since i binge watched season one and two when two came out i saw that season one was peak ngl so you're right about season 2 not being the best, but it's not as bad as 3. Season 3 really dossapointed me in some things. One thing i didn't write and just remembered too was the meeting between the brothers, In-ho and Jun-ho. I expected more and i was really curious how it will go but all we got was Jun-ho yelling "WHY?!" and In-ho just leaving, like, huh??? I wanted In-ho to tell his little brother more about what happened to him and that he confronts him, BUT NO we didn't get that unfortunately T_T

Still grieving for my queen, wish me luck lol :')

Also I'm glad you enjoyed reading the blog TYSM!!
